My babies are complete 😈 Hand-molded hand-painted models of the development of the fetal aortic arches. Credit to my mom for her help with the stand ❤ I'm so excited for this resource to be available to students! #anatomy#embryology
What I’ve found in my dabbling (and it is very compelling…I’ve had to fight to keep myself out of it) is that the argument becomes the product I’m selling, not a conversation or a quest for truth. Extending the argument forever becomes in both parties best interests. The only thing thing that matters is whatever my opponent said last. You just dig deeper and deeper, and you always feel like you’ve won, but you’re actually always driving people deeper into their pre-conceived sides.
Empathetic, thoughtful conversation can convince and find truth, but it can’t happen with hot-button issues in public forums because the goal is never to listen and empathize, it is to win. And the side that does the most listening and is the most empathetic is the side that is losing in the format of a debate.

Let's talk about the pea aphid, Acyrthosiphon pisum:
It can 'feed' on sunlight; gives birth to live, pregnant clone-babies & needs to be bacterially infected to survive.
@Chapman_Histo Honestly I was a medical transcriptionist for a while and the doctors all pronounce everything different from each other anyway, so I tell them I don't really care how they pronounce it if they can spell it right and answer questions about it on the test ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Me and @TFlanaganLab had a (chaotic) cranial nerves class today, so we whipped up these models from @DanielMannionMD, mirroring one for a paired set, + made a *small modification*, because everything is better with lasers.

I’ll never stop giggling at every conservative tweet gloating about how their point is “BaSiC sCiEnCe” - like…congrats? Sorry you didn’t make it past the basics, weird flex.
