@singingsox The molecular size of the contaminants you are around at work would be filtered by the mask. Wearing a respirator for extended periods to combat the chance that you may contract a virus, outweighs the benefits of said mask.

I've written in the past at length about the psychological phenomenon of mass formation and how it contributed to the coronapanic we experienced over the last four years.
In brief, if a large group of people get into a psychological state whereby:
☹️they feel lonely and isolated;
🥱their lives lack meaning or purpose;
😟they suffer from free-floating anxiety (anxiety which can't be attributed to a specific cause and is therefore difficult to deal with);
😡they suffer from free-floating aggression (they feel angry but without a conscious focus or reason for their anger);
than that group is highly vulnerable, and when a narrative or story comes along (especially spread by the mass media) saying there is a big external threat (e.g. COVID, climate change, The Russians), and giving the population a set of actions they can take to deal with that threat, it has a number of consequences:
🪖the people unite with other people to fight the external threat and no longer feel lonely or isolated;
🏃their lives suddenly have purpose and meaning;
🎯they have a target for their anxiety;
🎯they have a target for their aggression;
Ironically, all of this makes people very happy - their prior anxious, lonely, meaningless state has gone. This has a number of consequences in the real world:
🚫people don't want to go back to their prior state - which was psychologically very painful - and so fight strongly against people who don't agree with The Narrative or tell a different one;
📺people identify very strongly with people who agree with The Narrative and especially the voices leading and promoting it. This gives those leaders great power over the group;
😲people are so worried about returning to their prior anxious state that they will do things which make no sense or are harmful to themselves or others, because belonging to the "mass", the group of Narrative believers, is their top priority
😵💫people got into this new state via an emotional process, not a rational process. And cannot be appealed to via reason, arguments or data. It's very similar to a hypnotic state.
All of this explains very well, I think, why so many people behaved so strangely in unison during the COVID years.
And what concerns me is that, without understanding that's what happened, and without dealing with the root causes, it can all happen, again and again.
So what can we do to to avoid a repeat?
History of mass formation events has shown that people speaking out against the narrative cannot directly "wake up" those who were hypnotised by the propaganda.
But it can make the hypnosis less deep and the consequences less serious.
I've found that using humour, irony and, above all else, asking people questions, works better than battering people over the head with data, graphs, logic. And people need time and space to process it all. Getting angry or impatient with them isn't helpful.
But looking at the bigger picture, why did society get into this lonely, meaningless, anxious, angry state in the first place, and what can be done to address it?
🧑🤝🧑Well, we need more face to face contact.
👪Families staying together and taking care of each other.
🍻More socialising in pubs and clubs and churches and sports venues and in other people's homes.
📴Less screen time.
📺⛔️Turn off the mass media, which is the main source of the damaging propaganda.
🌳Get out in nature.
Ditch your "bullsh1t job" for something more meaningful if you can, or if you can't, find something to do in your spare time which gives your life meaning.
In other words, do all of the things governments discouraged you from doing during the coronapanic.
I don't think it's a coincidence that the pandemic response measures all had the effect of making mass formation more likely. The whole response was driven by behavioural psychologists, after all.🤔

CONSCRIPTION MADNESS! The government expects us to fight for it under conscription?
Why would any of us fight for a country that seems to despise us?
A country that can't stop the boats - then calls us racist for objecting?
A country that will not control our borders - while we watch our culture die before our eyes?
A country that houses illegal immigrants above our own homeless?
A country that forces us to scrap our cars, or boilers, under Net Zero madness?
A country that tried to cancel our Brexit votes?
A country that locked us down, then taxes us to death to pay for it? A country that threatened to remove our liberty unless we had their jabs?
A country that legalises the butchering of children? A country that ignores grooming gang victims in case it's seen as racist?
A country that takes the knee to BLM & pro-Palestine protestors, then arrests those who object?
A country that cannot deport terrorists?
A country that rewards/houses the workshy while the taxpayer struggles to get by?
Over my own dead body would I fight for that country!

@1MikeFairclough Also the vast majority of us are unwilling to fight for a totalitarian government, that do not act in the best interests of the British people.
