This is a VERY urgent, and heartbreaking appeal to reunite 2 heartbroken girls 💔🚨
Meet Staffy cross WILLOW 🤎🌾… she came into kennels this week and is truly one of the most heartbreaking intakes we have had … not because she’s been neglected - anything but 🤎 Willow is so loved, and has been so well cared for by her mum (who rescued her herself), but due to a terminal diagnosis, she contacted us desperate for help with Willow as she may be moving into a hospice soon 😔
It was heartbreaking for her mum to leave her at kennels - poor Willow knew what was happening too and is understandably now beside herself and so so anxious 😓🤎
Here’s the even more upsetting situation where we need to appeal for your help… we only had room to take Willow, and her mum has another dog Roxy … but as we have dogs booked to come in, we couldn’t take her too - their mum thought they were not overly bonded, so could be seperated, but given how anxious Willow is, and knowing how depressed Roxy is now without her, we know that we urgently need to reunite these poor girls ASAP 🚨😔
A HUGE ask, but if anyone out there can offer a foster/home to help these heartbroken girls this really would mean the world not only to Willow and Roxy, but also to their mum who needs to know that both her girls are safe, happy and cared for and not have to worry about them at such a difficult time 🤎😔🤎

🥹🥹Wow, be prepared to well up with this update🥹🥹

Yesterday I asked Ollie Williams YLDT CDT our trainer who looks after the rehab dogs and helps with our longtermers in kennels, to do a little write up on his rehab superstar of the month 🥹

I wasn’t ready to feel so emotional, so proud of Rea with his response 🥰

This is why we continue with this program. This is why the appeals at the end of the month are so important 🙏🏻⭐️

⭐️Rehab Superstar: Rea the Rottweiler⭐️

If I have to choose one dog who represents everything this programme stands for, it has to be Rea.

Rea has never had a home. Not once. No sofa to call hers, no familiar footsteps in the kitchen, no steady human to anchor her world. And yet, despite that, she has chosen to try.

I can’t name just one thing I’m proud of, because her journey isn’t one single achievement, it’s a collection of brave moments stitched together.

She has learned to trust.
She has learned to love again.
She has learned how to communicate appropriately.
She has learned how to play.
She has learned how to sit and slow her big feelings.

We’ve made wonderful progress with muzzle training. She crate trains regularly and enjoys enrichment. We’ve carefully desensitised household sounds, the TV, the hoover, everyday life noises that once felt overwhelming. We’re still building confidence with car travel, but even there she’s trying.

And perhaps the milestone that makes me beam the most… the reactivity work. The hours, the patience, the repetition. Rea walked past another dog she never met, head on, calmly for the first time just yesterday! That is huge.

Rea is proof that behaviour is communication, that patience changes lives, and that even a dog who has never had a home can learn what safety feels like.

She is, without question, my Rehab Superstar. 🖤
