Does the definition of “schadenfreude” include relishing in the defeat of a talented anti-vax football player, knowing that he will be forever known for his self-centered dishonesty and poor performance in the playoffs?
CDC’s new guidance to drop isolation of positives to 5 days without a negative test is reckless
Some ppl stay infectious 3 days,Some 12
I absolutely don’t want to sit next to someone who turned Pos 5 days ago and hasnt tested Neg
Test Neg to leave isolation early is just smart
@ashishkjha Need this sort of thinking but not sure it’s accurate. What are you basing “rare” on? Have you seen data this is true for Omicron? Which is incredibly contagious and might be transmitting at low Viral loads (when Ag test is negative). Worth investigating at larger scale than N=1:
Sharing a concerning story re: new @CDCgov guidance, which allows faster return to work for Health Care Workers (HCW) with neg Rapid antigen (Ag) test. https://t.co/Ge3pZx6a4W
Amateur hour here, but hoping @CDCDirector@ashishkjha@michaelmina_lab@darakass@ASlavitt are bored.
10/ Throughout the pandemic, underpowered observations have shown us truths (steroids) & falsehoods (hcq) that have allowed iterative study and improvement of our clinical and public health practices.
I truly hope this anecdote is not reflective of a larger trend with #Omicron.

9/ Ag tests are definitely useful and we need more of them, my #POTUS comment notwithstanding. But I'm a little worried about using a neg Ag test to "release" someone from precautions.
Should we stick with 10 days? Can we if attrition is high among HCWs? Rock. Meet hard place.
@michaelmina_lab TY! Since you caution low viral load transmission could happen, sharing anecdote: suspect it IS happening

Deleted an unproductive tweet I sent earlier tonight when angry. I'll try again:
Allocating more vaccines to vulnerable communities that need them the most will require delays in better-off communities...I hope people will have the courage and compassion to wait when necessary
