@N9President@wrathchild@ClayTravis What are your stats on that?
My friend, a very mediocre football (soccer) player went to high school in the US (we’re Danish) and he went straight in as captain and MVP of the season because they sucked. Not that this proves anything, just an anecdote
@NekotRL@Willdawg28161@AResoluteFaith@Gsuzz11@timthetatman Stretched leg and hitting the opponent with the underside of the boot first will result in a red card, it’s a safety issue. Think of the rules as you like, and if you don’t enjoy the sport for that reason, then it’s too bad. Don’t think we’ll miss American corruption
@DannyWolfofTech@gdoggy569@Microinteracti1 I’m just sick of Americans who know jack shit about football but suddenly think they are experts. I’ve probably played 2000+ hours and watched even more of football, but an American who has watched 4 matches thinks that he knows more about the rules of the game.
@kodkod87@Charles_Lister@FIFAcom My bad. I misunderstood the part that nations can’t appeal suspensions during WC as if they couldn’t be lifted. That’s on me.
But don’t you think it’s a problem that Trump and Infantinos relationship influences these decisions?
Just like Ronaldo’s name did, that also sucked
@kodkod87@Charles_Lister@FIFAcom Also, by FIFA’s own rules a suspension given during the qualifiers can be appealed and through that lifted. That happened for Ronaldo. A suspension given during the tournament cannot be appealed. They broke their own rules to please Trump.
@kodkod87@Charles_Lister@FIFAcom I’m not saying that I support that decision. He did serve the minimum suspension tho but I do think he should have been suspended all 3 games.
Is your reality that because they made a corrupt decision before, it’s fine to do it again? Where’s the red line for you then?
@kodkod87@Charles_Lister@FIFAcom No they didn’t. Unless it was during the tournament itself and because Portugal’s PM succeeded in pressuring FIFA to lift the suspension.
I have no idea how people can support that the host country’s president can have a voice in this. I guess that Americans are used to this
@IBarjis08@Charles_Lister@FIFAcom So you think FIFA would have lifted the suspension for an Iranian player as well? I’m merely speculating, not making a claim.
FIFA is infamous for corruption tho, just look at that ridiculous FIFA Peace Price.
@kodkod87@Charles_Lister@FIFAcom FIFA said there would be no appeal. Trump calls Infantino. Red card is lifted. It’s so much obvious.
It is within their ruleset but the red card was only lifted because it was a US player. Don’t think they’d overturn it if an Iranian player had done that :)
