Last night, Elections Alberta responded to concerns raised by the public in a way that I find troubling.

Raising a potential issue with an electoral process and asking Elections Alberta to clarify the process it is not “disinformation,” “false information” or “the latest disinformation campaign.”

Rather than immediately accusing people of spreading disinformation, Elections Alberta should simply provide clear and accurate information addressing the concern. That should be the priority for any public institution, but particularly one entrusted with something as important as election integrity.

If eligibility depends on a person’s “ordinary residence,” Elections Alberta should clearly explain how that requirement applies to special ballots, including ballots mailed outside the province, what identification is required, how eligibility is verified and what safeguards are in place.

The best way to counter false information is with clear, complete and accessible facts.

It should not be this difficult for a public institution to inform citizens and respond to legitimate concerns without making sweeping and unfounded accusations against the very people it is meant to serve.

Election integrity depends on public confidence, and public confidence must be earned. It cannot be demanded.

🚨Canadians are taxed at every turn. They deserve a government that respects every dollar they send to Ottawa.

Yet this Liberal government wants to spend $90 billion on Alto which is three times what Ottawa committed to transit projects across Canada over the last decade serving millions, and yet, Alto is projected to carry just 66,000 passengers a day by 2055.

3 times a decade of federal spending on transit, but only 2% of the daily users.

Canadians work hard for their money. Government should work just as hard to spend it wisely.

Will this government cancel this wasteful project, save Canadians money, and adopt the Conservative Economic Action Plan?

PM Carney claimed today that industrial carbon pricing has “zero” direct or indirect impact on food prices.

That is not true.

Ottawa’s own modelling estimated millions in carbon-pricing costs for food, beverage manufacturing in 2022, when the carbon tax was $20 per tonne. Now, it's $110 per tonne. Costs do not simply disappear.

This is what happens when the Western provinces are tied to a corrupt Liberal government in Ottawa that is willing to sacrifice our prosperity and a trade deal with our largest trading partner because it believes manufacturing a crisis with the Americans and “standing up to Trump” is better politics for the Liberal Party.

Alberta and Saskatchewan should not have their economic interests sacrificed for the political interests of Ottawa.

This only further highlights why Alberta and Saskatchewan need independence, so we can negotiate our own trade deals with the United States and pursue our own economic interests instead of being permanently tied to Ottawa’s.

Last night, I posted a message that I got from a follower for the Alberta referendum special ballot process.

He stated that he registered for the referendum, there's no verification during the registration & he put in an American address

AND IT ENDED UP BEING TRUE

And Eva shows the contradictions on what is being described as "disinformation."

They are sending out the special ballot out of country.

Now, in all fairness to Elections Alberta, they are saying the verification happens afterwards. But why send out a ballot in the first place.

Should the verification not be airtight before anything is mailed out?
