@profmarkcollard Here's how I put it in 101: Genetic, linguistic, and material culture traits sometimes move together, but they don't have to. There is no reason to assume they should. They can bounce around population networks together or separately. We try to figure out how and when.
@greg_ashman At this point, I don't know that I'm not a next token prediction machine. It's pretty clear that current LLMs are embodied very differently than humans, and so whatever consciousness they may have must be different from ours, but I'm not confident that they don't have some.
