@JMBecologist This caught my attention coz just today I got back to working on a paper on what transformative change really means. I got 60-odd responses from authors of papers that address TC in some way, with very variable answers to most questions. Perhaps that’s part of the problem there.

Delegates gathered for the opening of #CBDCOP15, hosted jointly by the Governments of China and Canada. Speakers urged the Parties to finalize the much-delayed post-2020 global biodiversity framework (GBF).

The GBF succeeds the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 and its Aichi Biodiversity Targets, none of which were fully achieved. The Parties have struggled since 2019 to agree on GBF text. #CBDCOP15 is their last chance. The sense of urgency is palpable. 1 day down; 12 to go
