@ktxby@WheatWatcher Would have thought most “not able to supply” clauses are written in the context of a force majeure event etc, not at absolute discretion..
@Tedthekelpie@jalbirri@hirschirsch@DrCameronMurray Yeah think the main thought process is probably attraction/ retention. If they start in year one as a grad at 70k and by year 4 on 100k+ probably stacks up pretty well for the employee too- also an attempt to address the itchy feet/ fatigue of a job with the year off
@hirschirsch@DrCameronMurray@Tedthekelpie Hundred percent :) but I’d say gov be nervous to allow people that can’t delay gratification or plan in such way early access
@hirschirsch@DrCameronMurray@Tedthekelpie Very true 👍 some workplaces offer this to attract people- reduce your salary by 20% for 4 years- in the fifth year they pay you to have a year off at 80%, or 5 years for 100%. Costs business bit more as most people’s pay increases over the period too- prob freshen you up tho
@hirschirsch@DrCameronMurray@Tedthekelpie Percentage of whole workforce maybe true 🤷♂️ plenty of trades, construction, boilermakers etc bodies are pretty shot by then or for harvest etc just too slow
