A truly wonderful occasion! I was delighted today to induct Rabbi Benjy Rickman into office as Rabbi of the Yeshurun Hebrew Congregation in Manchester, where he and Rebbetzen Emily are the much loved Rabbinic couple. Congratulations as well to Chair, Andrea Cohen and her team, for their outstanding leadership.
Donald Trump’s ultimatum to H*mas…
Why it matters…
Why he matters…
And why these cowardly terrorists must now be completely annihilated…
The last segment of Bat Beep Crazy this week… 🙏
4,000+ people joined North West Friends of Israel in Manchester today to commemorate the Oct 7 massacre of 1,200 people by Hamas, call for the immediate release of the 101 hostages still held in the terror dungeons of Gaza, pay tribute to @IDF for their heroism in defending Israel & say we are proud Jewish Mancunians, we are not Jews with trembling knees and we will not tolerate the constant Jew hate we have experienced since Oct 7 last year.
Am Yisrael Chai!

These figures are staggering but they only stand to reinforce what many Jewish people know - it’s not fun being Jewish in the UK at the moment. But maybe it’s time we looked behind the figures and talked about how antisemitism affects us on a regular basis. How it affects me. I am a proud Zionist Jew. My Jewish identity is an integral part of who I am. Since Monday I have done 4 radio interviews & 1 tv interview all discussing antisemitism. Each time I come away with my heart pounding, feeling a little sick. It’s soul destroying talking about why people hate me just because I’m a Jew or why people think anti-Jewish racism is ok & acceptable as long as use they use the word Zionist instead of Jew (it’s really not, we know what you mean). It’s exhausting hearing colleagues talk with no thought at all of how it affects me about ‘evil Zionists’ or saying ‘Zionists not welcome’. It’s funny how I’m very welcome when you want me to help organise sanctuary sessions for asylum seekers or a food delivery for a family on the poverty line. And while all you sisters were happy for my support when Sarah Everard was raped & murdered or we all wanted to march together to #reclaimthenight, Jewish & Israeli women, brutally raped & murdered, were ignored & mistrusted, all while you yell #BelieveAllWomen. I have worked with at least 8 Jewish families locally whose children have experienced antisemitic bullying at school, I had a man in his 20s tell me it was safer to be gay in Brighton than it was to be Jewish & that he no longer wore a Star of David. I’ve had people glare at me when they see my star & then yell Free Palestine at me. I’ve even had a vile local Jew-baiter write a fake tweet suggesting I wanted more Palestinian children killed - ha-bloody-ha. The emotional toll this takes is huge. I’m tired of dealing with antisemitism. I’m tired of being expected to declare some sort of purity vow - I’m Jewish but….followed by some disclaimer about Israel, Netanyahu or nod that I have taken part in a Saturday march or demo - something to show I’m an acceptable Jew. And before all you lovely people bombard my tl with the fact that it’s so much worse in Gaza, let me remind you that it’s also worse in Sudan & Ukraine & Myanmar but you’re not demonstrating about that. So yes, the figures are awful but it’s about how it affects individuals, people, you & me. So maybe just look across at your Jewish colleague or friend & ask them how they’re doing, because the likelihood is that, like me, they’re pretty exhausted, a little bit scared and totally fed-up of being the unwilling victim of society’s acceptable form of racism.
.@AShulman2 engages in the most disgusting Holocaust inversion in today's @MailOnline writing about Israel's response to Hamas that "some descendants of the Holocaust feel driven to inflict the same brutality on others"
This is Jew hatred, compares Israel to the Nazis & is a contravention of IHRA.

This is the synagogue and Jewish student centre at @UniversityLeeds.
Last night, graffiti was sprayed on it saying “IDF off campus” and “Free Palestine”.
Also yesterday, Jewish students at @UniBirmingham were met with a banner reading “Zionists off our campus”.
This is not some sort of social justice movement. It is an attempt by thugs to intimidate Jews and drive them out of our universities.
The reaction of the universities must be swift and severe.
If students are responsible, they must be expelled and referred to the police. If it was people who are not students, the universities must scour their CCTV to help police to identify them.
We offer free legal representation to people affected by anti-Jewish racism. Students who are affected can contact [email protected].

95 yr old Manchester Holocaust Survivor Itzick Alterman with a powerful message for Israelis
Watch it all & share
"My message to my brothers & sisters in Israel-to its citizens & its brave soldiers-is that just as I survived the Holocaust you too will be triumphant"

Simply beyond words.
Lucy Dee, who was recently murdered by a Palestinian terrorist, was also an organ donor.
Today, her remaining 2 daughters heard their mother’s heart beating in the chest of the woman their mother has just saved.
No matter how dark the situation, no matter how much evil there is in the world, the light of goodness will always prevail.
Never lose hope. Never give up. Just keep pushing forward and try to spread as much light as you can.
I have just been to the most incredible remembrance service at the Bridgewater Hall where I was privileged to hear first hand the stories of survivors #NeverForget#YomHashoah
Tonight Yom Hashoa begins, the day in the Jewish calendar when we remember the 6 million Jewish lives lost during the Holocaust. #NeverForget#NeverAgain
In memory of 6 million men, women and children who were murdered just because they were Jewish.
To commemorate the Holocaust and its victims, we must speak out against antisemitism today. In the face of darkness, be the light.
