This is a wake-up call. Our social media is being manipulated by foreign agents with the express intention of sowing hatred, mistrust, and misinformation among Americans.

Russia is behind a lot of it, using programs designed to disrupt our country and turn us against each other. We should be cynical about what we see on social media, and not fall for the rage bait.

This is also a national security issue and if the social media companies dont take immediate action, they are complicit. It's time for real regulation that requires them to find and shut down foreign bot networks, and holds them accountable when they don't.

@Savageboston That may be the most perfectly thrown 25 yard pass I’ve ever seen.

[Bobby Kogan @BBKogan]

Paul Ryan took debt so seriously that he voted for the tax cuts that did this at only 31 years old, and again at 33 years old, and again at 40 years old, and again at 42 years old, and again at 47 years old.

He retired before he could do it yet again at 55 years old.

Tim Snyder: The term that I came up with… is superpower suicide. I just can’t see an example of a major country losing so much power so quickly as the United States under Trump.

We’ve encouraged our enemies and we’ve made our allies not trust us.

@JakeIggy Imagine how fun a full year of him and a healthy crochet would have been!

[Andrew @AndrewB____]

@Brycen2047 Ummm… I think we pretty much all realized it.

@Super70sSports Is that Ben Rice tonight?

@smarshxo *and in the AFC Championship en route to a Super Bowl win.

[Baseball’s Greatest Moments @BBGreatMoments]

David Ortiz hit .688 in the 2013 World Series, 11 for 16 with 8 walks.

St. Louis basically stopped pitching to him by the end and lost anyway.

Ortiz retired at 40 after hitting .315 with 38 homers and leading the league in doubles and slugging in his final season, which nobody has ever done. Boston had been in an 86 year drought when he showed up and had three rings when he left.

@ProphetXBoston Can I say 2 and 4?

I put more in Josh than anyone else.

[Andrew @AndrewB____]

@Savageboston Honestly feels like 12-5 is a bit conservative.

People keep saying Trump term II is the most corrupt administration ever, so I built a model to find out if it was true.

I took the UN's definition of corruption, turned it into eight criteria and 100 points, and scored the leaders history remembers for looting their countries: Marcos, Suharto, Mobutu, Abacha, Obiang, Putin.

Then I put every president since Eisenhower on the same scale, both parties, with every exoneration counted right alongside the convictions.

Nixon scored 41 and no other American President scored over a 25.

Trump's second term scored a 91, which ties him with Suharto and Mobutu and puts him above Marcos and Abacha.

So he is not only the most corrupt president in American history. At this pace he finishes his term level with the most corrupt rulers of the last hundred years.

PSA: don't come in my comments arguing about the results if you haven't read the full article, because ignorance is a choice.

Full article is up now on my Substack (link in bio) and it's free.

Imagine a chef employed at a restaurant that charges $100 for a hamburger.

One day he gets sick of his institution ripping off customers, so he goes across the street and opens a shop with $5 hamburgers.

Now the hamburger loving people are better off. Competition drives down prices and increases quality.

The original restaurant, angry over the lost business, gets a law passed that bans chefs from owning restaurants.

Everyone would recognize this as a corrupt, protectionist law.

And yet, in healthcare, with skyrocketing costs, we still outlaw physician owned hospitals.

I said it at the time (and before!), but I truly believe that American voters electing Donald Trump for a second term in 2024 was the dumbest and most self-harming choice made by an electorate in the history of humanity

Based on the Speaker’s excuse, Congress could never pass laws or do oversight on medicine, energy, airplanes, etc.

Members of Congress don’t need to be CS majors to understand it’s a good idea to require AI companies to be able to turn off AI models/agents if they go rogue.
