Let’s get back to fundamentals on education.

When I served as Ambassador to Japan, from a distance I watched the Democratic Party tie itself in knots over a child’s pronoun—while 30 kids in the classroom couldn’t tell you what a pronoun is.

We debated taking Abraham Lincoln’s name off a school, but showed little concern whether the students know why he’s an American giant.

We argued over bathroom access—something I addressed as Mayor back in 2016—but along the way lost sight of the classroom excellence.

If Democrats want to win in 2028, we must fight for middle-class economics and middle-class values. That’s how we restore faith in public education—and in our future.
