Marty, the girls, and I are truly saddened to learn of the passing of a great Georgian, a dedicated public servant, a Damn Good Dawg, and a valued friend today – Larry Walker, Jr.
Republican-backed Justice Sarah Warren has held her Georgia Supreme Court seat despite a blue-leaning electorate, likely preserving the GOP’s court majority until at least spring 2030.
The result could especially matter for future abortion and redistricting cases.
Our #SmallBusiness members are grateful to @GovKemp for extending the suspension of Georgia's fuel tax. Higher gas prices mean higher prices across the board https://t.co/MsGGtGfNP3
As families prepare for the Memorial Day travel weekend, they shouldn't feel blindsided by prices at the gas pump. With our partners in the legislature, we've remained committed to giving hardworking Georgians relief wherever able, and this extension is another fulfillment of that promise.
As we commemorate National Police Week and prepare to observe Peace Officers Memorial Day tomorrow, I am ordering flags to be lowered in honor of all the brave law enforcement who have sacrificed so much to protect others. Please keep all public safety officers in your prayers as they keep our communities safe.
Like any household, Georgia has to maintain a balanced budget.
In fact, it’s the law.
Asking the governor to do otherwise is not only irresponsible, it’s disrespectful to the taxpayer.
Lots of misinformation circulating after yesterday’s budget signing, which approved $36.6 BILLION in state gov. spending & kept intact historic funding previously allocated for classrooms, mental & public health services, school security & public safety resources, & much more.
The real issue isn’t the number of waivers, it’s that the current workforce isn’t large enough to fill many of the slots we have. That’s why the governor put an ADDITIONAL $124 million in the base budget to increase provider rates to attract more of them to this good work.
Georgia classrooms must be safe learning environments that serve as launching pads for success in the workforce.
With that in mind, today I signed legislation to strengthen literacy and math skills, reduce distractions in the classroom, and support teachers and families.

Thanks to common-sense budgeting, over $1 billion is going back into taxpayers’ pockets!
Hardworking Georgia families will receive up to $500 refunds, for joint filers, because you know how to spend your money best, not the government!

Please join Jarrett, Lucy, Amy Porter, and me in wishing the best First Lady in the country a happy birthday!
We are so blessed to have you by our side, and we can't imagine life without you. We love you @GAFirstLady!
Rivian plans to increase initial production capacity for a plant it’s building in Georgia by 50%, a move the electric car maker disclosed as it posted higher revenue in its latest quarter. https://t.co/0iXrQasDfG
We’re on the ground with some of the brave first responders working to fight these fires.
Join us in thanking them for what they’re doing and keeping them and the affected communities in your prayers!
Grateful for the readiness of the @GeorgiaGuard in times of need. More Blackhawks are being deployed today to help @GaTrees and local authorities combat the wildfires as quickly as possible.
