@robotsailor I've been building a lot of ardu quads lately. Would love to start on a Rover when my wife stops yelling at me about spending all of my money on drone parts.
I've been trying to figure him out for years and then one of my friends loaned me a book called "The art of the deal". Whether it's business or politics he always goes hard in the paint when going after something. It puts people on their heels and gives him leverage when they come to negotiate. Not a fan of him doing this with our allies but we'll see how this goes. Crazy times we live in.
Have you ever driven down a major highway under construction and then drove down it 10 years later? Same construction company, same "under construction" signs? Those construction companies get away with it because their feet are never held to the fire. That's big defense contracting in a nutshell with a few more zeros added to the bill. Guarantee Raytheon and the other big DC's will get in line because if the stock price tanks, the shareholders will ensure the people in the c-suites are out on their butts within hours.
@GBNT1952@wayofftheres@butts34355@slewis64517103@Chuck_Ritter92@thenicklavery@RealTmDaddy 18D. My best friend and worst enemy. Truly sick? Here's an IV and a Z pack. Hungover? 18B comes over with nods on his head, lights out in the team room and an ad hoc IV training session starting at the hand and working his way up because he needs the practice. Booo!
Question for the people with Computer Science degrees or a similar discipline... if you were a senior in college about to graduate with that degree, what path would you be looking at taking as a next step? For context, my son will be graduating from CU Boulder next semester with that degree. Over the holiday's he shared that he's a little apprehensive about the next steps knowing that AI is replacing a good deal of what he just learned. As backstops he's started the application process for grad school (some kind of AI emphasis) and he's also looking at commissioning into the military for a possible cyber role. I'm not opposed to either of those paths but I'm curious if there's other options he may not have considered? Any ideas would be appreciated.
@wrlindley@mtaibbi Journalistic integrity started to spiral on June 1st 1980 when Ted Turner created CNN and the 24 hour news cycle. Brilliant business move on Ted's part but that's when Pandora's box was opened.
@K_leeeb Read "The Toyota Way". Research Kaizen and take the time to talk to experienced process engineers. Also, if you're going into manufacturing with a startup, plan on not sleeping much until the process bugs get worked out. Best and worst year of my life.
@travelingflying I think journalists were afraid of being labelled racist if they dug into it which would have been the end of their career. That model seemed to work on a great deal of Minnesota state employees. Thank God for whistleblowers.
@Defence_Index I like the idea but where do the 100's of 40 gram projectiles land when they miss? That could be a bad day for anyone unlucky enough to be beyond this system and the target it's firing at.
@samosaur Not a religious person but I keep a copy of the serenity prayer framed on my wall. Reciting that to myself instead of acting has kept me out of jail more than once.
@Sentdex@lukas_m_ziegler Also brought to you by Rep. Elise Stefanik. Instead of using this as a forcing function to get DJI to reveal the 2000 lines of hidden code in their programming, she bent the knee to Skydio and a couple other manufacturers to get the ban put into the NDAA.
@DeltaClimbs I wish we had these back in Iraq and Afghanistan. Nothing says F*** you more than watching an insurgent mortar team get physically deconstructed by a baby ginsu. This is awesome!
