Yesterday I attended the global, En-ROADS Climate Workshop by @climateinteract developed by MIT Sloan Sustainability Initiative @MIT_Innovation
In the workshop, participants propose climate solutions such as energy efficiency, carbon pricing, fossil fuel taxes, reducing deforestation, and carbon dioxide removal.
The facilitator then tests these approaches in the "En-ROADS Climate Solutions Simulator", so participants can see the impact on global temperature and other factors in real-time.
The goal of the workshop is to create a scenario that limits global warming to well below 2°C and aims for 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, the international goals formally recognized in the Paris climate agreement.
I thought it was so necessary to get a holistic scientific view of the situation to engage more people in real time simulation. This is a great social impact initiative, seen here is @AndrewPJones passionately involving the world in this climate initiative. Well done Climate Interactive
Member spotlight! The awesome Peter Dugas gave a presentation on En-ROADS at the Center for an Ecology-Based Economy’s recent gathering, 2030 Vision: Resist, Regenerate, Renew. Thanks Peter for your great work!
Our MIT Climate Pathways Project (w/ @MITSloanSusty + @climateinteract) using interactive simulations to advance evidence-based climate policy has gained 50+ endorsements from a diverse array of leaders! This week hear from CEO of the Russell Family Foundation Kathleen Simpson.

Funeral for #HurricaneHelene flood victim today here in #Asheville. Elsewhere in the cemetery, this newly blown-over tree covers gravestones. May all this suffering fuel our resolve.

"Climate disinformation" is an elitist trap.
Why?
It centers the professional-managerial class in climate action — people who work with information — rather than people who build goods and grow stuff.
