@johnredwood Plenty of rain in Scotland. Could just fill up shipping tankers and transport South. Was once proposed in New Zealand to ship fresh water from Fiordland and can be done
@BrianLeishmanMP Nuclear uses Sea water for cooling in all UK nuclear power stations. The only inland nuclear station was Trawsfynydd in North Wales that used lake water that is also used for hydro at Maentwrog.
@EssexPR Lets hope they have a spare £10 billion to compensate the companies. The fields have been developed and Jackdaw is ready to be turned on. This happened because the government asked them to continue when the the government itself hadn't followed their own approval rules.
@AndrewBowie_MP Just have to look at what happened in New Zealand after they banned New licenses around 2018 to see what happens next with the industry here. The outlook will downturn very fast
@JohnSwinney Its finished and why I'm looking overseas like many of us in the oil and has sector. Too little too late from our politicians and I'd rather work somewhere where they make us feel welcome
@ScotRail Why on earth did Scotrail decide to roll this out on a work day for most people trying to commute instead of a weekend. Utter shambles trying to get into the app and set up this morning
@daveharrower @JohnSwinney Burnham is right. Give the power back to local authorities that Thatcher centralised. We don't need expensive devolved parliaments. The structure is already there in our local councils
@larabirdsnp@theSNP Students in Scotland still need and take out Student loans. It's not cheap to rent in Glasgow or Edinburgh whilst at University and they use the loan to pay halls of residence or flatting costs which still need parental help to cover costs.
@theSNP Yes indeed they should get rid of devolved parliament and put the control directly with local councils. That was how the system was meant to work before centralisation by Thatcher
@ReformUKScot Absolutely. I emigrated to New Zealand in 1983. They had rules. No criminal record within the first three years otherwise deported. I've lived in Australia too where citizenship means something where they are proud to become Australian
@ClarksonsFarm1 Get tested guys. It's simple and even the old fashioned finger test up the pass isn't that bad. Enlarged prostates are common after age 40 and by age 80 most of us have one. Most are ok but its better to be safe.
@paul_reesy@HarrietCross_MP I've worked in the oil and gas industry for 34 years. I might know a thing or two about it and the PAYE contributions. Gas does go into the domestic grid at Bacton and St Fergus from the North Sea. During Covid the prime minister asked CEO's for it to be kept flowing regularly
