🏴🇪🇺 Former Welsh Labour Senedd Member calls for another Brexit referendum and for @UKLabour
to campaign to rejoin.
Sharing a video of himself on his TikTok account the former Senedd Member for Blaenau Gwent attacked Brexit which he deemed a means to ''enrich the billionaire class'' he continued, by stating:
'' What we now have to do, and this is especially true for the Labour Party is to campaign to rejoin the European Union''
'' It is time now to hold another referendum, for us to retake our place...in Europe''
🇬🇧🇪🇺 Andy Burnham has already ruled out revisiting the Brexit debate.
Terrible night for @DanWalesReform Reform's leader in 🏴
The pressure is mounting on the former Tory Barnet councillor after his party lost more seats at by-elections in Wales last night, adding to the party's by-election failures from last week.
Losing seats in Llangennech to Plaid Cymru and Dowlais & Pant in Merthyr to Labour were devastating blows for @RUKWales
They were also trounced in Treorchy a ward in one of their General Election top target seats. Plaid Cymru winning 70% of the vote to Reform's 16%.
Questions will be asked if Dan Thomas is the right person to continue leading Reform in Wales.
No More Money for Wales!
Former Tory councillor, now Reform MS Jason O'Connell opposes more Westminster funding for Wales!
It's a strange position for a Welsh MS to take considering that more money would greatly benefit his constituents!
Replying to the Welsh First Minister via tweet Jason O'Connell wrote:
"Maybe Wales needed [sic] something better than begging at the gates of No10 for more cash?"
O'Connell is severely out of touch with public opinion on this issue. A YouGov poll earlier this year found that 57% of people in Wales believe the country is underfunded by Westminster.
Majorities of supporters of every party, including Reform Uk, said that Wales does not receive its fair share of Westminster funding.
There is broad agreement across the political spectrum that the Barnett Formula short-changes Wales, as it allocates funding largely by population instead of relative need.
Maybe Jason O'Connell would like to explain to his constituents why he believes that Wales doesn't deserve more money!
Plaid Senedd Member @Kiera__Marshall has released a video dispelling Reform UK myths about asylum seekers.
In the video, which appears across all her social media platforms, the Caerdydd Penarth MS states:
"Reform claim that asylum seekers are taking your social housing, but that's just categorically untrue because asylum seekers are not able to claim social or council housing while their asylum claim is ongoing."
Responding directly to Reform MS Joe Martin's claims that there would be an inevitable attack in the future by Sudanese asylum seekers, Marshall stated:
"I don't think I need to point out how ignorant that claim is. The notion that an entire nationality is inherently violent..."
Continuing her attack on Reform, she said:
"This is what Reform do. They blame migrants for all our problems because they have nothing else to contribute to the debate."
🏴 Senedd 🏴
Welsh Labour MS Huw Thomas accuses the Welsh Government of not prioritising climate change.
During his time as leader of Cardiff Council £42 million was spent on cycle lanes in an attempt to tackle climate change.
Only 5% of the city's population use these cycle lanes on a daily basis.

Official announcement of the result and the next Labour Party Leader!
Labour losing 45% of their vote share here. Hard to see how @RhonddaBryant keeps his seat at the next GE, also taking into account the huge Plaid vote witnessed at the Senedd election in the Afan Ogwr Rhondda constituency.
With Your Party Cymru launching in Aberystywth in July, why did @zarahsultana as an independent MP vote against the devolution of the Crown Estate to Wales?
Desperate stuff from the Welsh branch of @UKLabour.
Consequentials are never ring fenced. Additional money gets sent to Wales following any budgetary increase in England. It is to ensure that there is budgetary equality for all nations within the UK.
Welsh Labour know this, of course, seeing as successive Welsh Labour governments in Cardiff Bay have spent health consequentials on areas in Wales that differed from the services or issues in England which initially triggered the additional funding.
With messaging like this it's no wonder that they end up with 9 out of 96 seats!
🏴 Vitally important that the spending of any government gets scrutinised. For far too long working people's taxes have gone to pay for feel good political vanity projects.
The great shame for Wales is that there are no serious politicians interested in holding the WG to account, by reminding politicians that taxpayers money is not their property but that of the people who pay for public services.
Since arriving at the Senedd (with the exception of maybe 2 members) Reform have turned the buisness of governance into a joke. Flags, hair-dryers, sanitary products and bluster with little fact from the floor of the Senedd.
Making government more effective by monitoring fiscal spending and scrutinising by evaluation should be the task of all elected representatives. Unfortunately it is not.
More of a shame is that whilst they profess to these grand gestures Reform's Senedd members won't be able to fullfill this much needed gaping hole within the Welsh political system. It requires serious politicians to do that job!
🚨News : New survey reveals pressure on hospices in Wales as Welsh Conservatives call for fair funding.
A new survey of adult hospices in Wales conducted by Hospice UK shows:
• That hospices report caring for patients with increasingly urgent and complex needs
• That half report staff distress caused by turning patients and families away, or not having enough time with those they do reach
• That 40% say staff sickness rates have increased over the past year

Welsh Conservative Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care, @natasghar said:
''Plaid Cymru must now deliver a sustainable funding model for hospices in Wales, so patients can receive the compassionate care they deserve, when and where they need it.”
I've been 🏴 nearly a year, when I arrived I was shocked at the lack of press/media here, coverage of Welsh politics is so poor. Regular daily coverage is rare. Lots of focus on academic debate and lengthy journalistic article...so for me this⬇️ = breath of fresh air.

🚨News: The Crown Estate has published financial figures for 2025-2026.
The Crown Estate's assets in Wales generated £200 million in profit.
Crown Estate profits in Scotland are paid directly to the Scottish Government.
Despite calls by Eluned Morgan for a similar arrangement for Wales, during her time in office as First Minister, the UK Government 🇬🇧 refused the request.
Devolving the Crown Estate is central to the demands of the new Plaid Cymru Welsh Government.
🏴 Devolution🏴
Among supporters of greater devolution in Wales, Mahmood is likely to be seen as resistant to transferring responsibility for justice and policing.
She adopted a dismissive attitude from the dispatch box to Plaid Cymru's @LSRPlaid earlier this year, when she pressed the UK Government on devolving policing to Wales.
Interesting to see how the dynamic plays out between Mahmood and the pro devolution Burnham.
