Road Tax (VED) just goes into a central pot, so Reeves saying 'petrol and diesel drivers are contributing to fixing the roads' is either a misunderstanding or a flat out lie.

Your road tax could well be financing weapons for Ukraine, or paying for young men with very low IQ and no comprehension of the age of sexual consent to stay in a hotel near you, for all you know.
