@mbs59er The USA could definitely win world cups if the culture was dedicated to soccer. Would take multiple decades though. The tall guys would still play basketball just like they do in all the other countries.
@agronomistag@FredVLarsen@kowalchukfarms1 Yes sorry. I think it’s overstated to claim organic is anti science. Not being entirely based on science is different than being anti science. Organic and conventional both have values that aren’t based in science.
@agronomistag@FredVLarsen@kowalchukfarms1 The organic label has been around for many decades. It was never 100 percent based on science. Wasn’t what John was talking about. If you are arguing for policy to be rooted in science that is a different argument. Consumers don’t buy products based on science.
@FredVLarsen@kowalchukfarms1@agronomistag Why is it anti-scientific at its core? I’m not talking about the marketing or government decision-making. It’s actually very honest. You can look up and see what is allowed and not allowed.
@agronomistag@kowalchukfarms1 Organic is a brand. Just like any brand not everything about it is awesome. It serves different purposes for different people and organizations. I like some brands that are more expensive yet I know that not everything they say about the product is 100% true.
@aGphIosophy@xGPhilosophy lampard and Gerrard didn’t overachieve their XG in their careers, though. Doesn’t mean they weren’t good at long-distance shooting.
@mohamed13221955@AllyFogg@____TJ_______@squatter666 Sure, you have the right to be frustrated about anything. I think of referees are humans you have to accept there will be a certain level of mistakes happening, rarely massive ones but sometimes it happens.
@CTIDANDREW@fidbee If they think it is obviously offsides they raise their flag. Not surprising that every once and a while an assistant gets it wrong. As far as fuck ups go, I wouldn’t say this was massive.
@AllyFogg@____TJ_______@squatter666 No grace is given to referees. They are humans doing a job. I honestly don’t know how they could do better. The framework could change but they are working within a framework. The AR thought it was very obviously off (even though it was not obvious).
@db_math@realc972 You have apparently never heard of variance. Referees are something to talk about, but there is no evidence that suggests teams are favored from season to season
