Israel having to negotiate for the release of its civilian hostages is among the most absurd and humiliating things Iโve ever seen in my life.
These arenโt POWs being exchanged among warring nations after having been captured in battle. Theyโre KIDNAPPING VICTIMS, forcibly dragged from their homes at gunpoint and kept in underground rat tunnels for months. Yet Israel has to send delegations to Paris and kindly ask that the governments of Qatar and Egyptโthose noted bastions of human rights!โintercede and convince Hamas terrorists to release them, in exchange for Israel releasing violent criminals (with a ratio that will undoubtedly be an order of magnitude greater, of course). As if civilian hostages and Hamas militants are morally fungible.
Maybe Iโm just a dumb Marine who doesnโt understand the world of diplomacy, but it feels like nothing less than a ritual in forced humiliation. Having to barter for the safe return of women and children. Rape victims and babies.
Itโs repugnant.
Donโt get me wrong, I donโt blame Israel for doing anything its power to secure the safe return of its people. I respect them for seeking resolution using all the means at its disposal. God knows, Iโd do nothing less in their situation.
But Israel shouldnโt *have to*. Hamas releasing the civilian hostages it seized on October 7th should be a basic prerequisite for all other points of consideration here. Returning the hostages should *precede* negotiations for a ceasefire, not be used as a bargaining chip in exchange for one.
Then again, what do I know? Iโm just a random guy on Twitter who continues to be shocked at the utter moral cowardice evinced by so many public figures, global leaders, and political officials since October 7th. Surely, Iโm missing something in my understanding of the situation. After all, thereโs significant historical nuance here, and the dynamics are far more complex than terrorists simply having kidnapped, raped, and murdered innocent people.
Right?
โNo countries are more tied, in their fates being sealed with one another, than Israel and Iran are right now.โ

Rage at Hamas for shooting people who try to get food from the humanitarian aid that was entered into Gaza by Israel.
The Gazans blame Hamas for the war.

What an honest and profound perspective from a Muslim who was exposed to the horrors of Hamas-ISIS through digital platforms, sharing the truth of the October 7th massacre and deeming it โindefensible.โ
This war is more complex than one might have thought.
Please, read the full article at the link below and share it.
Israel forcefully rejects the despicable and unfounded claims published today by a group of so-called UN experts, including one who just days ago legitimised the massacre of October 7 in which more than 1,200 people were murdered, executed and raped, and another who publicly doubted the testimonies of Israeli victims of gender-based and sexual violence.
These mandate holders have remained silent on the horrific sexual violence and gender based violence perpetrated by Hamas on and since October 7. It is clear that the co-signatories are motivated not by the truth but by their hatred for Israel and its people.
The State of Israel will continue to abide by its obligations under international law. No complaint has been received by Israeli authorities but Israel remains ready to investigate any concrete claims of misconduct by its security forces when presented with credible allegations and evidence.
Muhammad Smiry is a terrorist, he is part of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. He even tweeted saying that he is in 2014. He even mentions the name Shaqaqi, which is the name of one of the co founders of the PIJ. Many other members of the Smiry family are part of the PIJ as well.
This nightmare could end tomorrow with the release of all of hostages and the complete surrender of Hamas.
You support a ceasefire?
Call for the immediate release of all hostages.

Yair and was brutally murdered on October 7th by Hamas-ISIS and his body is held in Gaza, while his 2 sons - Yagil (13) and Or (16) were kidnapped into Gaza by this terrorist organization and were freed in a hostages deal in late November.

RIP Yair ๐

"Hamas is not a terrorist group" said Martin Griffiths
I'm glad that @UNReliefChief is at least honest and thinks that raping, slaughtering and kidnapping Jews is ok.
Moreover, he forgets that Hamas is recognized as a terrorist organization by the U.S., European Union, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom and more.
Maybe you should take out a statement that will clarify the facts rather than your own admission that you support a terrorist organization.
