I spoke with Canada’s Prime Minister, @MarkJCarney. I am grateful for Canada’s support for Ukraine and our people.
I informed about all the details of diplomatic work and constant communication with partners. We are coordinating joint decisions and preparing our next aligned steps. Various meeting formats are under discussion.
I shared Ukraine’s view on Russia’s true intentions and plans. We see it the same way, and it is obvious that the Russians simply want to buy time, not end the war. The situation on the battlefield and Russia’s wicked strikes on civilian infrastructure and ordinary people prove this clearly.
We agreed that no decisions concerning Ukraine’s future and the security of our people can be made without Ukraine’s participation. Just as there can be no decisions without clear security guarantees. Until this is achieved, sanctions against Russia must remain in force and be constantly strengthened.
We also agreed on our further contacts with partners. Thank you, Mark, and thank you, Canada, for your support and readiness to work together for a lasting peace.
I have not heard any partners express doubts about America's ability to ensure that the war ends. The President of the United States has the levers and the determination. Ukraine has supported all of President Trump’s proposals, starting back in February. Ceasefire, all formats have been supported.
What is needed now is not a pause in the killings, but a real, lasting peace. Not a ceasefire sometime in the future, in months, but immediately. President Trump told me so, and I fully support it.
Thank you, @AnitaAnandMP, for this meaningful message on #VyshyvankaDay and for your continued solidarity with Ukraine.
In Canada, vyshyvankas have told the story of Ukrainians for over 130 years.
Grateful for Canada’s steadfast support in defending our freedom and identity.
Children should never be used as pawns in war.

Right now, in many regions, you can literally hear what Russia truly needs. Around 40 "Shahed" drones are in our skies, and air defense is active.
Unfortunately, there have been hits, specifically on civilian infrastructure. A direct hit by a "Shahed" drone on a hospital in Sumy, strikes on cities in the Donetsk region, and attack drones currently in the skies over the Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Chernihiv, Poltava, Kharkiv, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, and Cherkasy regions.
It is these types of nighttime attacks by Russia that destroy our energy sector, our infrastructure, and the normal life of Ukrainians. And the fact that this night is no exception shows that the pressure on Russia must continue for the sake of peace.
Today, Putin effectively rejected the proposal for a full ceasefire. It would be right for the world to respond by rejecting any attempts by Putin to prolong the war.
Sanctions against Russia. Assistance to Ukraine. Strengthening allies in the free world and working toward security guarantees. And only a real cessation of strikes on civilian infrastructure by Russia, as proof of its willingness to end this war, can bring peace closer.
Right now, Ukrainians are hearing the sounds of war — the war Russia is determined to prolong at any cost.
Its attacks on civilian infrastructure tonight, like a hospital in Sumy, and deadly drones across 10 regions of Ukraine are what Ukrainians have experienced for years.
Russia’s intentions remain unchanged — it seeks to continue its war. To achieve a just and lasting peace, we must apply maximum pressure on Putin.
💬 "Sanctions against Russia. Assistance to Ukraine. Strengthening allies in the free world and working toward security guarantees. And only a real cessation of strikes on civilian infrastructure by Russia, as proof of its willingness to end this war, can bring peace closer." — President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy
An informative meeting with a cross-party delegation from the Parliament of Canada, led by Speaker @GregFergus.
The discussion primarily focused on Ukraine’s path to NATO and the invitation to join the Alliance. We also discussed support for our energy system ahead of winter, defense assistance, continued sanctions against the Russian Federation, and Canada’s leadership in liberating Ukrainians.
We sincerely thank Canada for its unwavering support for Ukraine since the very beginning of this war.

Happy Canada Day to Prime Minister @JustinTrudeau and all of our Canadian friends!
We greatly value Canada’s leadership in supporting Ukraine, which started back in 1991, when Canada was one of the first countries to recognize Ukraine's independence.
Today, Canada continues to support Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression as a true friend and ally. Most importantly, this partnership is based on strong ties between our people.
This year, we took our relations to a new level by signing a bilateral security agreement. We also appreciate Canada's attendance at the first Peace Summit, active participation in implementing the Peace Formula, and leadership in the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children.
The Ukrainian-Canadian partnership strengthens both nations and advances our common values of freedom, democracy, and international law. I am confident we will continue to develop it.
For them, it is a pleasure to burn. We all know who we are dealing with. Russia is run by men who want to make it a norm – burning lives, destroying cities and villages, dividing people, and erasing national borders through war.
There is no nation that can stop such war alone, unaided. World leaders’ engagement is needed.
Does Russia want a dialogue? Ukraine has the world’s largest experience of lies from Russia during negotiations. And that’s exactly why global efforts are needed. The Global Peace Summit of the leaders whom Russia won’t be able to deceive.
Together with Switzerland, we are preparing for such a Summit. It starts on June 15th. More than eighty countries confirmed their attendance. And we continue to work with leaders, inviting them to join the Summit.
I am appealing to the leaders of the world who are still aside from the global efforts of the Global Peace Summit – to President Biden, the leader of the United States, and to President Xi, the leader of China. Please, show your leadership in advancing peace. Real peace, not just a pause between the strikes.
The efforts of the global majority are the best guarantee that all commitments will be fulfilled. Please support the Peace Summit with your personal leadership and participation.
I am grateful to the Canadian government and Prime Minister @JustinTrudeau for their support. Following our agreements outlined in the Ukrainian-Canadian bilateral security agreement, Canada launched a new five-year military aid program for Ukraine worth 1.6 billion Canadian dollars.
We received 2 billion in financial budgetary assistance in March and expect another 400 million this year. Canada also continues to lead in humanitarian mine clearance, providing $76 million in relevant assistance.
It is also critical that Canada consistently supports the use of frozen Russian assets to aid Ukraine's recovery.
We are grateful to the Canadian government and people for their comprehensive and long-term support, as well as practical steps to put our security agreement into action.
@AmazingZoltan It's not the first time Putler and his cronies kill fellow citizen massively to rule through the fear and oppression. Just google Nord Ost, Beslan, russian residential building explosion in 1999, war against Chechnya
@AmazingZoltan Funny how you selective in history. Take a look how Chamberlain reached a "peace" with Hitler and Nazi. Wonderful "bridgebuilding opportunity" of those time. Never worked well for London, Paris, Warsaw though ) Stalin, widely praised in today russia, had a better deal ))
This night, Russia launched over 60 "Shahed" drones and nearly 90 missiles of various types at Ukraine. The world sees the Russian terrorists' targets as clearly as possible: power plants and energy supply lines, a hydroelectric dam, ordinary residential buildings, and even a trolleybus. Russia is at war with people's everyday lives. My condolences to the loved ones of those killed by this terror.
In all of the cities affected by the attack, the necessary services have already been deployed. Rescuers, power engineers, regional and local authorities, police and utility services are helping people. Nobody will be left without assistance. Electrical power is being restored. Recovery in Kharkiv and its region, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Poltava, Dnipro, Odesa, Khmelnytskyi and its region, Vinnytsia, and Ivano-Frankivsk has begun as of last night.
Russian missiles have no delays, unlike aid packages for Ukraine. "Shahed" drones have no indecision, unlike some politicians. It is critical to understand the cost of delays and postponed decisions.
Patriot systems must protect Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia; air defense is required to protect people, infrastructure, homes, and dams. Our partners know exactly what is needed. They can definitely support us. These are necessary decisions. Life must be protected from these savages from Moscow.
