FAMILY SERIES: ATTACH DIVINE ORACLES TO YOUR FAMILY NAME

Proverbs 22:6 (KJV): “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

As a parent, it is not enough to simply tell your children what is right and wrong. Yes, we teach them that “God says don’t lie” or “God says love your neighbor.” This is important. However, there is more you can do as a parent: attach divine oracles to your family name.

What does this mean?

It means teaching your child to root your family identity in God’s truth. You don’t just say, “God says don’t steal,” but rather, “Because we belong to God, we, the Lubegas, do not steal. That’s not who we are in Him.” In this way, your family name becomes a reflection of God’s character — a living testimony that your identity flows from His truth.

When a child grows up hearing that, it becomes more than a rule—it becomes part of who they are. By doing this, you are not merely correcting behavior; you are building identity. You are planting in them a voice that will speak even when you are not present.

Say things like, “We, the Lubegas are of God, so we do not lie. We speak the truth in love.” “We, the Lubegas, are a praying family.” “In our home, we walk in love and forgive quickly.”

By this, you are commanding that child’s destiny. You are not just raising them to behave well, you are helping them understand who they are and how that identity shapes their choices in life.
