A Ford Ranger Raptor was completely destroyed after it caught fire on the N1 South near Ysterberg between Polokwane and Mokopane on Tuesday, 16 June 2026.

According to eyewitnesses, thick black smoke began billowing from the vehicle's engine bay while it was travelling on the freeway. The driver managed to pull over safely before the double-cab bakkie was engulfed in flames.

Emergency services and fire brigade personnel responded swiftly to the scene and worked to extinguish the blaze. No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
