Super wealthy private-equity investor Guy Hands says the British economy is “frankly doomed” unless the government succeeds in fundamentally changing the Brexit negotiated by Boris Johnson. He says Truss’s disastrous unfunded tax cuts were necessitated by Brexit but…
UK economy "frankly doomed" without Brexit renegotiation
Guy Hands, CEO of private equity firm Terra Firma & long time Tory supporter, says UK is on a path to being "the sick man of Europe" & would eventually need a "bailout from the IMF"

Investor Guy Hands on the Today programme: "Without renegotiating Brexit "the economy is frankly doomed <which means> steadily increasing taxes, steadily reducing benefits and social services, higher interest rates and eventually the need for a bailout from the IMF"
@vueling I have already had a dialogue with you via DM and I'm afraid it still feels like I'm banging my head against an automated system with no way of actually reaching a real person.
Why are @vueling impossible to communicate with. After cancelling our flight at the last minute they have rebooked us in 3 days time and there is no way of cancelling this through their website and no way of speaking to a person to claim compensation #dontflyvueling
People of Coventry are the stars of an art exhibition at Coventry Cathedral.
Local artist Andy Farr has been telling @SandraGodley1 all about it.

No bounce in Brexit. World exports bounce back from Covid growing 8.2% while UK’s falls 14% in 3 months to January 2022. Brexit is blamed. The OBR claims UK productivity will be reduced by 4% over next 15 years.
If you really wanted to make a linkage between Brexit and the horrendous invasion of Ukraine, it’s that the notion of a fragmented EU suited Russian ambitions, which is why so much Russian influence (and filthy money) was invested in both the Brexit campaign and the Tory party.
These are the ruins of the Drama Theater in Mariupol, where hundreds of civilians hid. Inhuman Russian war crime. I want to ask multinational companies still working with or in Russia: how can you keep doing business with them? How can you feed, serve, and pay those who did this?
I know it’s late
I know you’re weary
But Boris Johnson equating the Brexit vote with the pain, death & devastation being experienced by the Ukrainian people sickens me, as it should do you
Boris Johnson likens Ukrainians’ fight to British people voting for Brexit. I can still remember the enthusiasm of Putin and Trump after the referendum. Boris, your words offend Ukrainians, the British and common sense.
#BorisJohnson ’s likened #Brexit to what’s happening in #Ukraine. That’s grossly insulting to Ukrainians who’ve been unlawfully invaded by #Putin & are literally fighting for their lives & for the freedom to join the #EU
