@JohnJohnStewart The simple fact of the matter is that countries that have adopted segregated cycle infrastructure have far greater levels of cycling and a far better safety record. No ifs no buts, but of courser the cyclist haters jump on a really poor piece of clickbate, sloppy journalism.
@ediz1975@enfield_greens LTNs or no LTNs, there is only one source of congestion, people using the dirtiest, most inefficient mode of transport - the car. In particular, that cohort of people that use the car, day in, day out, to the exclusion of any other mode. Charges levied for heavy car abusers now!
@IslingtonResid3@TheFox89688362 Selfishness is using a two tonne sofa cage to get round a congested city whilst bringing danger and toxic air to the population. LTNs or no LTNs, the selfish transport habits of a minority are the cause of congestion; you are the problem, no ifs no buts.
@ediz1975@JohnJohnStewart You may occasionally see motorists behaving selfishly, with far more devastating consequences. I wouldn't dream of characterising all motorists by their behaviour. Your hatred of cyclists is obvious and weakens your arguments; remember, most cyclists are also motorists.
@CityHallTories Perhaps Khan has a bigger picture in mind? Why do Tories always seem to prioritise self interest. Look at the data, and the wider picture.
@JohnJohnStewart@francesca_kms What is your view of children having to cycle in the road with heavy traffic? Shall we compare the KSI? You've been skating over that issue for years.
@SocEnvJustice How bizarre that a voice that aims to facilitate mass car usage by using back streets by a selfish monority with the resulting environmental damage and degredation of quality of urban life should be entitled 'Social Environmental Justice'! Bonkers Britain!
@VincentStops@JohnJohnStewart Unlike LBWF and LBH, Stevenage has loads of parking, roads and roundabouts and has very low density housing - all set up for car culture - US style. Waltham Forest has some cycling infra in the south of the borough, where most cycling takes place.
@VincentStops@JohnJohnStewart Mass cycling will only happen when there's a comprehensive cycle infra network - as experience abroad suggests; there isn't anything like one yet. The only solution to congestion is road pricing; there will always be a substantial number who will favour the sitting room on wheels
@MakRgr@JohnJohnStewart There is absolutely no evidence for your accusation whatsoever. The permissive charges are transients and will be financially negligible in a few year's time. Accusations like yours should result in you in court, charged with defamation, and asked to present your evidence.
@JohnJohnStewart ULEZ is about air quality, so directly emissions related and rightly based on such. Size and mass are far less accurate metrics, although they have awful externalities of their own.
@ediz1975 We wouldn't need to, would we? Free flowing traffic on main roads as a direct result of reduced private car use at last! "Never, in the field of human transportation, have so many lives, been so blighted, by such a selfish few."
@OliveOilx666@ediz1975 Mobility scooters are an excelelnt idea, but space needs to made for safe infrastructure. Fortunately xrays can reveal the biggest space wasters!
