❗️In Germany, there was an explosion at the arms company Diehl Defence, BILD
Diehl produces missiles and ammunition as well as the IRIS-T air defense systems, which were transferred to Ukraine.
The attacks are occurring more and more frequently.

The Lake District National Park Authority (LDNPA) has stood by while our lake is continually put at risk. We are calling on the LDNPA to finally take a stand and to take action to protect our lake.

As the planning authority, the LDNPA is responsible for the sustainable development of the National Park, but one development currently being proposed has some serious red flags.
Whilst we have NO objection to Pearsall House being converted into a hotel, we firmly believe that the LDNPA must reject the proposal based on the fact that United Utilities’ current sewage network and their proposed solution to manage the increased demands on their infrastructure are completely inadequate and will likely increase the risk of raw sewage spilling into Windermere. The site in question, Ferry House Wastewater Treatment Works (WwTW), currently operates as a cesspit, with tankers driven to the site to empty it several times a week. Recent evidence shows that it has already overflowed, leading to sewage entering the lake.
United Utilities is proposing to increase tankering from the site to manage the substantial increase in sewage from the proposed development. Over a decade ago, UU themselves stated that tankering sewage to Ambleside WwTW is “not a long-term solution.” Yet now, they are proposing it again. On top of this, there is clear evidence of illegal spills and overcapacity issues at Ambleside itself demonstrated by Professor Peter Hammond at @WindrushWasp , and now they want to dump even more responsibility on a system that's already failing.
The current site does not have the capacity, UU’s proposals are grossly inadequate, and the solution is very straightforward: convert the site into a proper pumping station.
To date, the LDNPA has remained silent while United Utilities, a £7 billion company, exploits our natural resources. Not only have they watched at there has been clear exploitation of our freshwater, but they have also taken funding directly from the polluter, with UU contributing £30,000 to just one of their projects. We believe it is entirely unacceptable for the LDNPA to accept this money, given the extent of sewage dumping in the National Park.
We demand that the LDNPA reject this proposal and finally take action to protect Windermere’s Windermere’s water quality and the health of the local environment. Our lake deserves better.

“Water bills must rise if Labour is to hit housebuilding target, industry claims.”
Simply breathtaking levels of arrogance on display from the water industry but would you except anything less. Contemptuous, corrupt and failing.

Throughout the entire month of August, the US 🇺🇸 has sent Ukraine 🇺🇦 two small military aid packages worth $125 million each. These aid packages consisted of artillery ammunition, anti-tank missiles, HMMWVs, and GMLRS
The aid on average in the past 4 months is the lowest ever recorded in the war, other than the 5 months where US didn’t send any aid to Ukraine due to Congress. It is much lower than the military aid US sent in all of 2022 and most of 2023. Today, Ukraine needs more aid than at any time during the war to defend itself properly. Especially when they are losing more land every week than they have for the past two years. Instead of US sending at least what is needed to defend, they are sending 2-3 times less than what is required to defend and less than what they asked for the year from Congress.
The US is stretching out 1 year of aid into 3 years of aid, while Ukraine lacks the equipment and ammunition to defend its territory and cities from missiles properly. This is either done purposefully or is entirely ignorant of the current battlefield situation. US is not sending enough ammunition, including sufficient cluster munitions, to Ukraine; they are not sending new Bradley IFVs, Strykers, or other armored vehicles; they are not sending nearly enough glide bombs or air defenses, and appear to have drastically decreased the shipment of ATACMS missiles in the past month.
While Russia escalates the war, launching over 327 missiles and drones in 24 hours at Ukraine, more than any country has ever had to handle, the US appears to be doing the bare minimum to help Ukraine do not have any clear plan to win the war, in addition to putting restrictions on the usage of long-range missiles against legitimate military targets in Russia.
This policy needs to be changed, and US needs to step up the military aid immediately, or Ukraine will end up losing significant parts of Donetsk Oblast and eventually losing the war if this level of aid continues. It’s shameful and it is a disgrace. @POTUS@JakeSullivan46@SecBlinken @SecDef @VP
Please like and share to help ensure this serious issue gets the attention it requires and a stronger commitment by the US to Ukraine’s security
Truss the Windows Vista Thatcher and the brief reign of terror that occurred when the Tories inexplicably let Father Dougal do a funeral.
Did you know about the hedgefunder stuff? The PM is charge of an entire COUNTRY and yet the police do nothing.

Today, the Ukraine-NATO Council meeting was held. Our Minister of Defense briefed our partners on Ukraine’s most urgent needs—particularly air defense and the protection of critical infrastructure. The liquidation of the aftermath of the Russian ballistic missile attack on Kryvyi Rih continues all day.
There was also a devastating airstrike on Kupiansk, where a guided bomb hit the city center, leaving people trapped under rubble. Tragically, there are casualties. My deepest condolences to the families and loved ones affected.
It is important that all our partners respond more actively to Russian terror. This terror must never become a so-called “new normal” for Europe. We are also working with our partners on front-line supplies—not just weapons and ammunition, but also strength with long-range impact.
We continue to insist that decisive action now, including lifting restrictions on long-range strikes for Ukraine, will help us bring this war to a just end for Ukraine and the world as a whole. The protection of life matters equally everywhere. I am grateful to everyone around the world who is helping.
