counting CWH and Blue Compass each as one company (despite many locations), we were #16 dealer in new sales volume in CA in 2024 (out of about 200 dealers)
these stats are national and wholesale (mfg to dealer)...CA retail volume (just got the numbers today) was down in 2024: Travel Trailers -5.2% and Fifth Wheels -9.8%
for almost 20 years, I was a picker of small cap stocks (stock fund manager 2003-2019, until I transitioned to private software deals).
now, I'm a "picker" of RV brands (INV manager for a $20+ M RV dealer).
@davidorr_31 Yes, for TT and FW, seeing 2022 as peak prices, 2023 5-10% lower, 2024 5-10% lower...RV prices finally coming back down to pre-COVID levels (mfgs held up pricing as long as they could, ha)
in the Great Recession (2008-2009), RV sales declined about -70% and about 30-40% of independent RV dealers and 30-40% of RV manufacturers failed...I'm wondering if this downturn will be roughly half as bad (15-20% of independent RV dealers and RV manufacturers fail)
another Elkhart Open House completed…best highlight (for me) was a 2:1 tour of Highland Ridge (Open Range, Starcraft) by President/founder Randy Graber…and strolling Notre Dame campus
Don’s RV Center, the fastest-growing luxury RV dealer in California, is excited to be #3,242 on the Inc. 5000 (2023). Don’s RV celebrates nine years in a row of record sales.
