@catherine391516@sciencegirl Yes when I stated drinking this, I still do now, it was a black rubber (vulcanite) stopper. People now sell these stoppers on eBay as antiques! I guess they moved to metal screw tops sometime in the late 60’s.
@BrentwoodSunLge@YesterdaysBrit1 No bowler hat, it was only a pre Griffin branding, Midland Bank, one of three branches in The Strand at the time. I did have to secure the truncheon about my person in a discreet fashion 😂. I was unclear who would assist me if I blew the whistle.
@BrentwoodSunLge@YesterdaysBrit1 As a school leaver / Bank employee in the 70’s I was given a whistle & a wooden truncheon when I had to stand on the pavement in ‘The Strand’ to wait / watch for the bullion van to arrive! Never got to use either of them & certainly was given no training in the use of the latter

This is one of the most underrated Bowie songs. I love this version. Notice everyone played perfectly. Otherwise I wouldn’t have had the freedom to improvise or be as supportive to David. He was the artist of many generations.
