@BBCr4today sorry, isn't it a principle of capitalism that a failed company (Thames water) simply goes bankrupt and it's assets are disposed of? Why aren't we buying it back for London for ยฃ1?
@BBCr4today
Re: Prostate cancer - thankyou for mentioning the link to BRCA2. Lots of men will know their status concerning this gene, as a result of their sisters being treated for breast cancer.
I'm relieved to know that my prostate risk is lower as know I don't carry BRCA2
๐ฅ 70 MPs have backed an amendment to fix our broken voting system.
This is huge - but we need many more to have a real impact and get a step closer to winning Proportional Representation.
Check if your MP has signed, and if not, email them now ๐

@AndyBurnhamGM@labourlewis Watching from Yorkshire. One thing, don't let the hubris bite your arse. Encourage the positive critics who can tell you the truth. Build alliances rather than a one-man show. Good luck kidda.
@AnnaClare_@Labour4PR@getprdone@AndyBurnhamGM He's quoting the labour conference resolution from 2022 mandating the labour leadership to introduce PR "in the next parliament". Meaning now.
@OffshoreSimon@Labour4PR@AndyBurnhamGM Yes. Our system is built on the authority of parliament. Plebiscites aren't a natural system of government in the UK, Brexit shows us how vulnerable they are to misinformation from bad actors.
@ScottishBevan @Labour4PR@AndyBurnhamGM It forces consensus and collaboration. Stops extremists from conducting generational experiments with, eg, selling off all state assets.
@hi_priest_teeth@Labour4PR@AndyBurnhamGM Labour conference resolved in 2022 to implement PR "in the next parliament". Burnham is quoting the actual words of the resolution. This means he thinks it should be done now because the future that the resolution referred to is our now. This parliament IS that next one.
@Labour4PR@AndyBurnhamGM He's quoting the labour conference resolution - "the next parliament" back then is the current parliament now. Otherwise it's "free beer tomorrow"!!
@BBCNews regarding Zack Polanski and his boat. If you bothered to research this you'd find that a residential mooring is a very very rare thing, especially in London. Boat owners on non-residential moorings are not required to pay council tax, but can stay aboard for months.
@BBCNews oh for goodness sake find find something else to talk about rather than political leadership. You are behaving like the worst scandal-sheet tabloid.
@carolecadwalla Agreed. BBC should use it's iron clad funding to take risks. I'd have a constant flow of new and interesting presenters rather than high salary "old hands". Keep it fresh & bright.
