@kathryniveyy Two hours late off a 12 hour night. Drove the hour & ten home. Still had my morphine. Drove the 2hr 20 round trip there and (nearly) back home to rectify. A 17hr shift with no break or sleep, slept in lay-by for 20mins which became 5hr. Turned round. Straight back for next shift.

I had the honour yesterday of speaking to the @UniofSuffolk #UniSuffolkGrad about honorary doctorate recipient Albert Grant OBE.

In preparing for the ceremony, I met a genuinely inspirational gentleman and heard his life story.

Child with cough, seen f2f, entirely well. Parent stormed out, told us we were shit and they were going to take them up to ED to get antibiotics.

This is one reason ED attendances are a poor metric to judge practices by.

NB. Oddly, parent believes in ABx but not vaccines.

@razp00 @ShShena0047 @mass_swede GP's don't perform emergency surgery so were unlikely to be the best call to make for your wife's care. Calling 111 and ending up in hospital for the correct care in a timely fashion, that's the system working as its designed to do.

@ShShena0047 @mass_swede Fiction. If people understood how to use various health services, or heaven forfend administer some self care, then there would be far less people in A&E. There should be many steps before you arrive at A&E but with the expedience of society they are skipped for a quick fix.

@pritipatel @England Wouldn't it be something if we created a form of protest against this. A peaceful one where icons could take a few seconds to draw attention to the subject in a quiet & dignified manner. Possibly they could do it in front of millions. Maybe on TV say? A football match perhaps?

@EDonnellyPhD @georgette_eaton Had there been a noticeable impact on the standard of new entrants who's studies were significantly affected by the pandemic (eg reduced exposure, missed teaching, remote teaching) but who managed to graduate regardless.
