Subject: YouTube Moderation Has Gone Off the Rails

Dear Mr. Mohan,

We, the creators, are reaching out to raise serious concerns about the current state of moderation on YouTube — because what’s happening lately is beyond frustrating, it’s absurd.

YouTube moderation has spiraled into a wild, unpredictable mess, with examples that feel like satire — but they’re very real:

🫠 Channels are being banned for “scam” content… when the videos are literally about how to avoid scams.
Content creators are penalized for assisting the audience.

🫠 @TeamYouTube's official replies have become robotic and nonsensical, often repeating irrelevant boilerplate regardless of the issue raised.
It no longer seems as if anyone is truly listening.

🫠 AI moderation is riskily uninformed about the context.
We have seen innocent videos of coffee get blocked by the Child Safety policy. Yes - coffee.

🫠 Appeals are being rejected immediately — usually in 1-2 minutes — and it is now apparent that there is no human review going on.
This is not due process. It’s firing-by-algorithm

It invokes the question:
Is this now the new norm of YouTube?

Are creators now expected to navigate a system where rules shift without warning, enforcement is random, and appeals are meaningless?
Creators — big and small — are the lifeblood of this platform. But right now, many feel powerless, invisible, and silenced by automated systems that don’t understand nuance or context. YouTube has always been a place for creativity, education, and community. But what’s unfolding now is a disservice to the very people who built this ecosystem.

We ask for:
✅Transparent moderation policies
✅Actual human review for appeals
✅Clear communication — no canned responses
✅An admission that the system as it is now is dysfunctional

We're passionate about this platform. We want to see the site succeed — but we cannot if we're being banned for things we shouldn't be banned for, or denied justice from an AI that doesn't comprehend what it is viewing. Please correct this.
