The main objective of SEDM is to enhance understanding and intensify political-military cooperation in the region with a view to strengthening security in this part of Europe.
Glad to bring @rccint’s perspective to the #SEDM Deputy Chiefs of Defence Meeting in Tbilisi, where I highlighted RCC’s work on regional security cooperation, including through the SEE Regional Network on Disaster Risk Insurance and Risk Sharing.
Thanks to @Hellenic_MOD, @ModGovGe
Regional cooperation remains one of the strongest tools for security and resilience in South East Europe.
Established in 1996, the South-Eastern Europe Defence Ministerial (SEDM) remains an important regional framework for defence dialogue, trust-building and practical co-op.
Sva složenost energetske tranzicije u BiH danas stane u dva naslova:
Dugoročno je potreban postepeni odmak od uglja, a kratkoročno stabilnost sistema i sigurnost snabdijevanja.
Honoured to host Minister @benjaminhaddad at the RCC. A consistent advocate of the European future of South East Europe and the Western Balkans, his visit sends a strong message of France’s enduring engagement in our region. At a time of growing geopolitical uncertainty, such commitment to cooperation, connectivity, and European integration matters more than ever.
Borders are only as strong as the cooperation behind them 🌎🤝

Today at the @mfa_bih in #Sarajevo, RCC Secretary General @amer_kap addressed ambassadors and Ministry of Foreign Affairs diplomatic staff in Sarajevo and across BiH missions abroad, speaking about the RCC, and the #RegionalCooperation in context of EU enlargement, Growth Plan and the global geopolitical shifts.
“Regional cooperation is more than the corporate logic of short-term measurable outputs. Quick results without trust may look effective, but they rarely endure. Over the years, regional cooperation has proven itself with people-oriented deliverables that safeguard trust, mutual respect, and regional ownership. Cooperation as the practical driver of EU integration must remain region’s strategic choice ” said RCC SG.

18 years. One region. Working together.
Last night, at our Annual Reception, we marked 18 years of the #RegionalCooperationCouncil.
As Secretary General @amer_kap said last night: “The RCC comes of age in a different world than it was 18 years ago and we are fully aware challenges ahead. But we are ready to adapt, with clarity and purpose. We will sharpen our focus on people-oriented deliverables. We will safeguard trust, mutual respect, and ownership among partners. And we will fully exercise the RCC’s convening power. In times of polarization, keeping all regional actors engaged in structured and inclusive dialogue is not symbolic - it is essential. We define efficiency not by speed at any cost, but by focus, credibility, and implementation that lasts. Business as usual is not an option, but neither are shortcuts that undermine long-term confidence.”
We would like to thank all our partners for sharing this special moment with us last night. We are equally grateful to those who could not be physically present but stood with us in spirit. We look forward to the challenges ahead and firmly believe that, together, we will continue to make regional cooperation an even stronger and more powerful tool for achieving our shared goals.
