Africans Rising and the Pan African Solidarity Network continue to call for the immediate release of Erias Lukwago, who was released from military detention on 17 June only to be remanded and charged with misprision of treason.
We urge that justice be administered through a fair, transparent, and impartial legal process. We also call for the release of all political prisoners and respect for human rights, due process, and the rule of law.

STATEMENT ON RISING ATTACKS ON FELLOW AFRICANS IN SOUTH AFRICA
Africans Rising strongly condemns the escalating wave of Afrophobia violence targeting fellow Africans in South Africa, driven by vigilante formations such as Operation Dudula and March and March. The targeted attacks in eThekwini, now expanding to Johannesburg, reveal a systematic Afrophobia campaign of harassment against African people.

Africans Rising is deeply concerned about the escalating war in the Middle East and its threat to global peace, democracy, and sovereignty. Ongoing violence is causing immense suffering and instability. The world needs cooperation not more war.

Violence against women across Africa remains a critical human rights issue. Women and girls continue to face disproportionate levels of domestic, sexual, and gender-based violence both offline and online. Addressing this crisis requires collective action.
This Women’s Month, we reaffirm our commitment to challenging violence in all its forms and building a safer, more just Africa for every woman and girl.
