Amid growing concern regarding the strain that asylum seekers place on an already overstretched working class, the South African government may look to international models, such as the UK’s restrictive immigration plans, to reform its own policies.@CyrilRamaphosa@PresidencyZA
My brother, I say this from a place of experience. I spent over 10 years building and managing brands before I entered tourism sector.
And one thing I know about brands is thst heritage alone does not save a declining brand.
The ANC's history is extraordinary. Most of us wouldn't be where we are if it wqsnt for the ANC. Its role in our democracy is undeniable. But heritage gives you equity; it doesn't give you a permanent licence to lead.
Brand revitalisation starts by confronting the uncomfortable truth: what has changed in the experience of the people you serve?
You don't revitalise a brand by telling people how great you once were. You rebuild it by earning trust again.
So perhaps the question is not: “What happens to SA if the ANC loses?”
Perhaps we should be asking: “What must the ANC become for South Africans to still choose it?”
History gives you heritage.
Performance gives you credibility.
Integrity gives you trust.
Lose those, and nostalgia won't save the brand.
The greatest threat to the ANC may not be losing an election.
It may be becoming irrelevant to the very South Africans whose future it was created to change.
One day, remind me, to tell you a story of how I was seconded to be a Brand Manager in foreign land to develop and implement on an anti-competitor brand strategy, when one big US brand was entering that market and threatening our strong brand position. How we succeeded and limited their market share to below 5%

I need to correct something I posted earlier. I said DJ Maphorisa is Nigerian. That is not true. He is South African, and I was wrong to say otherwise. I apologise for the mistake and for any confusion it caused. @DjMaphorisa

A lady on TikTok says she wants to create an “ex review” website 😭😂 You sign up, create a profile and review the guy you dated. Other girls can search his name and see what they’re getting themselves into before investing 😭😭 I
Nxarhuni River being the original name. This is important before some fellow tells us that “Nxarhuni is similar to how Makoti came about” that maak ons tee nonsense. And also the river runs through rural villages collectively known as Nxarhuni.
