Something worth paying attention to…
In 1987, the 10-Year Treasury yield spent most of the year climbing.
January: ~7.1%
October 16: 10.23% the peak
Then came Monday, October 19.
Black Monday.
The Dow dropped more than 22% in a single session.
Fast-forward to today.
The 10-Year Treasury yield just reached its highest level since 2002.
5.34%
And once again…
It’s October.
Am I saying another Black Monday is coming?
Absolutely not.
History doesn’t have to repeat itself for it to be worth studying.
But when the bond market starts sending signals like this, Its worth paying attention.
My approach is simple:
Keep buying power. Don’t chase. Be prepared.
I’ve been working heavily on specific $SPX levels and ranges where I want to become an aggressive buyer if we finally get a meaningful flush.
If the market gives us the dip, I want to be ready for it not scared of it.
Cash is a position. Buying power is opportunity.
$SPX
We've ended up in the top left square: a hike and a hawkish press conference. That means Dollar up a lot and gold and S&P 500 flat to slightly down. A lot of the critical questions didn't get asked in the press con, so I would say Warsh got off lightly...

VIX 14 AND VIX 30 ARE NOT THE SAME MARKET.
Yet most traders manage their $SPY 0DTE trades exactly the same way.
That’s a mistake.
Here’s how I read the VIX.
