My thoughts and prayers are with you @HEBobiwine and Barbie. I wish BW quick and full recovery.
I condemn the violence and brutality meted out by security forces against peaceful actions and protests by citizens.
Uganda belongs to all of us and the right to freedom of opinion, expression and assembly is not a gift from the govt or any individual. It is guaranteed by the 1995 constitution. Sad!
🚨 🇺🇬BREAKING: UGANDAN OPPOSITION LEADER BOBI WINE SHOT AND INJURED
Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has been shot in the leg by security agents, according to his party.
Wine, a former singer turned politician, is the leading figure of Uganda's opposition and has been a vocal critic of President Museveni's regime.
His music and activism have made him a symbol of resistance for Uganda’s youth, advocating for democracy and human rights.

How safe are we in a country where police shoot civilians? When those sworn to protect us become a threat, who can we trust? Let's demand justice and reform to ensure our safety and human rights are prioritized. Pray for bobi wine #PoliceReform#SafetyForAll#bobiwine
I am shocked and appalled by the despicable attempt on the life of President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu @HEBobiwine who was shot with a tear gas canister in Bulindo.
I am praying for you Mr President
We must come together to condemn this heinous, cowardly act of violence.
This evening as our President returned from Bulindo in Kira Municipality where he had gone to check on one of our lawyers, Musisi George, the police and military under the command of one Twesigye surrounded our vehicles and started firing live bullets, teargas canisters and other projectiles. In the process, our President #BobiWine who was clearly targeted was shot in the leg. He is currently being attended to by a team of medical doctors.
This is yet another attempt on the life of our President by the Museveni regime!
