Layoffs at Atlantic affected marketing, publicity, A&R, touring, digital ops, data, and commerce. It may take 3-4 months, at a minimum, for the label to fully reorganize. If I were an artist there, I'd consider holding off on releasing new music until the new year.
Atlantic Records is conducting a significant, deep round of layoffs today. In addition to the people who will lose their jobs, these cuts greatly impact the artists who remain rostered. Restructuring and layoffs lead to artist abandonment. ⬇️
@BrianZisook Companies are looking at their bottom line and how to reduce cost.
One one hand, the issue of breaking artist like the good ol’ says.
On the other, how to utilize technology that pushes music forward (I.e. how it’s consumed).
Anything to add or change here?
Just saw a video over @Wendys founder, Dave Thomas… Where is his movie?! His story is authentic. Adopted, veteran, MBA (mop bucket attitude), knew Colonel Sanders.
Would prefer that story over the popular chain w/ clown mascot..
Preciate that! 🤘🏽

I would add, register w/ a PRO, copyright your songs, and DON’T rush your music release. Actually make a plan.
@Kayvanmd , @BrianZisook what would you add?
Rooster Teeth is biting the dust after more than two decades.
Parent company Warner Bros. Discovery, after unsuccessful attempts to sell the unprofitable fandom, gaming and comedy entertainment division, is shutting down Rooster Teeth’s operations. https://t.co/WhPZDkeMEi
@ScHoolboyQ Blue Lips is good, lots of variety in production. I’m still jamming WYGDTNS.
@ReginaldHelmsJr would have been great to see in this project imo.
