The 3 X-Factors to Houston's offense in 2026.
- QB C.J. Stroud
- WR Jaylin Noel
- OT Aireontae Ersery

@havinflashbacks@HTXSports281 It does look like Caserio called prior to 16 based on them talking about who the Jets may pick so Sadiq would have been there at the time.
The Texans called the Panthers attempting to trade up to pick 19 as shown in Carolina’s draft blueprint from Youtube:
Carolina decided to stick once Monroe Freeling fell to them at 19.
Demeco Ryans spoke yesterday about the receiving ability of the RBs as something that will be a bigger part of the offense this year:
“We’ve been working more with the routes with our backs, catching some passes out of the backfield, some option routes some screens plays.”
Houston now has 2 backs who finished top 25 in REC EPA last season:
Woody Marks - 10th
David Montgomery - 24th
Texans GM Nick Caserio tells @SeanTPendergast & @SethCPayne he also believes the Texans offense is much farther along this offseason than it was at this point last offseason while throwing in some C.J. Stroud praise.
“I think everything starts with C.J., it’s probably been the best spring he’s had since he’s been here. He’s had a really good offseason, he’s trained well. I’d say his on field demeanor, his presence, his communication, his ownership, his leadership of the offense it’s stood out.”
Texans GM Nick Caserio says that the pre-snap execution was an emphasis of the offseason.
“Demeco talked to the team about that, so if we can just clean up some of the errors, some of the things that happen before the ball is even snapped as a team eliminate some of those issues whether it’s watching the ball on defense, jumping offsides.”

Texans WR/TE separation scores vs Man Coverage last season via @FantasyPtsData:
- Nico Collins (0.120, 35/129)
- Jayden Higgins (0.088, 49/129)
- Xavier Hutchinson (0.063, 63/129)
- Jaylin Noel (0.000, 94/129)
- Dalton Schultz (0.112, 5/72)
Noel’s performance will be a big X-Factor this year for the weapons around Stroud.
Texans C rotation consisted of only Keylan Rutledge & Evan Brown during the first team reps today from @Cody_Stoots substack:
Andrews was the main center during the 1st open day but fell back today giving Rutledge/Brown their opportunities.
Will be the most interesting battle to watch this offseason.
Texans are signing OL Derrick Graham to fill the roster spot that opened with cutting Sidy Sow via @AaronWilson_NFL.
Graham played 118 snaps under Cole Popovich in 2022 at Troy with most coming as a 6th lineman.
He transferred to Tulane in 2024 where he played almost entirely at LT.
