Rooted in Redemption

“I was at university for twelve years. It took me that long to graduate because I got derailed by my own habits.”

He said this with candor, not shame, with the calm of someone who has made peace with his past and chosen to use it as a tool for transformation.

Having finally graduated in 2024, @ChazMr_Miti now spends his time mentoring young men and women in universities, encouraging them to stay focused and abstinent, so they don’t fall into the same self-destructive patterns that once delayed his own journey.

He credits his parents for never giving up on him, for believing, insisting, and reminding him that he would make it. Not all young people have that kind of support, and Miti knows it. That’s why he offers his story, his time, and his presence as proof that failure isn’t final, and that belief can rebuild what was once broken.

Sports became his turning point. Through his own fitness journey, he discovered that movement can heal, discipline can restore, and community can sustain. Today, he helps organize marathons across Kampala, using them as avenues to mentor and mobilize youth.

He has also started an initiative called The Clan: C for Community, L for Learning, A for Application and Action, N for Networking. The Clam is a platform to help young people find purpose, build consistency, and grow together.

Miti is learning to lead himself and others. Like his name, which means trees, he is becoming rooted and grounded in purpose, standing tall as a beacon for his generation.
