Opening an EU Delegation in Muscat is a milestone in our relations.

It is a clear signal of our commitment - to Oman, to the Gulf, and to stronger security partnerships with the region.

The EU's network of currently 145 delegations around the world is one of its greatest strategic assets. Today, we are expanding our diplomatic footprint in an important part of the world.

The closure of the Strait of Hormuz hurts the global economy and helps Russia fund its war.

It is affecting our partners in the region and is dangerous for global energy supplies.

Today, EU Foreign Ministers will discuss how to better protect shipping in the region, including contributions from our Aspides naval mission.

Today, we reached an agreement with Israel to expand humanitarian access to Gaza.

This deal means more crossings open, aid and food trucks entering Gaza, repair of vital infrastructure and protection of aid workers.

We count on Israel to implement every measure agreed.

The European Union Delegations in the State of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman announce relaunching the 15th Edition of the Chaillot Prize for the Promotion of Human Rights in the GCC Region.
The Prize honours local civil society organisations, public or private institutions, as well as individuals for their efforts in promoting general awareness of human rights and the rights of vulnerable groups in the GCC region.
