This page is a resource for Orioles fans who want to look under the hood at both MLB and MILB players in the O's system.

Adley Rutschman on Samuel Basallo:
"He's a very smart player, but just kind of understands how injuries are. They're tough, and you obviously don't want them to get bigger. He’s smart with stuff — and smarter than his age."
Basallo playing hurt and probably giving us like a .650 OPS for 4 months is WAY worse than giving him a couple weeks to rest and treat and getting him at full force .800+ OPS for 3.5 months
Maybe hot take, but if you aren't on Samuel Basallo's side in this playing through pain bs, you are wrong
This feels like some generational nonsense, trust that the older side is USUALLY wrong
A short IL stint is always preferable to a handicap
Kevin Brown brought up the Samuel Basallo situation and asked Jim Palmer on MASN.
Jim Palmer: “If he’s able to play late in the ballgame, I’m surprised he’s not in there, that’s all. I don’t think this is the time, when you’ve lost four in a row, to teach a lesson.”
If TON wants to start hitting doubles, everyone needs to stfu and let him do his thing. This has been one of the streakiest players in the league the last few years, fwiw
The Orioles are now second in the AL in runs scored this year, behind only the Yankees (who just lost Judge).
It seems like this offense is FINALLY coming together!
It's a little rich griping about analytics when we were just swept by the now 33-15 first place Rays, literally the most analytically-minded team in baseball
The issue isnt analytics, the issue is that OUR analytics sucks 😕
MASN analyst Ben McDonald on the postgame show: "You either do or you don't. And right now, the Orioles don't. They are not doing it and they're not playing well right now. That's the bottom line."
The Orioles have a -48 run differential, good for last (tied with SFG) in baseball
There is an argument to be made that they are the worst team in baseball.
Floating in no-mans land of just rebuilt so can't rebuild, but not really close to contending
What a bummer.
@MDSportsChat Used to think no but at this point we're coming up on two seasons-worth of games being a last place caliber team so yeah, probably.
I think the smart move is to give him the season.
