Cleave says this (remember, having blocked me the day he announced his conversion) even while I'm quoting classic Protestant authors. Remember that the definition of Sola Scriptura is that Scripture is of itself sufficient to bind us as to what to accept as the Doctrine of Christ/Divine Revelation. Cleave states that this is at odds with Protestant confessions:
WCF I:
V. We may be moved and induced by the testimony of the Church to an high and reverent esteem of the holy Scripture;ᵃ and the heavenliness of the matter, the efficacy of the doctrine, the majesty of the style, the consent of all the parts, the scope of the whole (which is to give all glory to God), the full discovery it makes of the only way of man's salvation, the many other incomparable excellencies, and the entire perfection thereof, are arguments whereby it doth abundantly evidence itself to be the Word of God; yet, notwithstanding, our full persuasion and assurance of the infallible truth and divine authority thereof is from the inward work of the Holy Spirit, bearing witness by and with the Word in our hearts.
VI. The whole counsel of God, concerning all things necessary for his own glory, man's salvation, faith, and life, is either expressly set down in Scripture, or by good and necessary consequence may be deduced from Scripture; unto which nothing at any time is to be added, whether by new revelations of the Spirit, or traditions of men.ᵃ Nevertheless, we acknowledge the inward illumination of the Spirit of God to be necessary for the saving understanding of such things as are revealed in the Word;ᵇ and that there are some circumstances concerning the worship of God, and government of the Church, common to human actions and societies, which are to be ordered by the light of nature and Christian prudence, according to the general rules of the Word, which are always to be observed
Just ignore this buffoon already. Like what are we doing here? lol This is his schtick to get content because he provides no net value.
He scours the internet for stuff like this to make content about and relies on others being self enlisted monkeys in his circus where he just makes stuff up and outright lies about people for content.
He clearly knows zero about the basics of logic and reason. This has been repeatedly demonstrated by him.
Don’t be a monkey in his circus.
@NiceColorsss@patristicpill@blessedmikko Many such cases. If we got rid of the heresy of WO perpetuated by boomers, we could actually have functional dialogue again
@NiceColorsss@patristicpill@blessedmikko I think that St Philarets catechism (still the standard in most American Rocor churches) says the same thing about the 66 book canon and deutorocanon that the Anglican church has historically believed
@ErickYbarra3@issaavedra76613@PageauJonathan@gavinortlund Thank you for accurately representing what Protestantism is.
Too many people hold modern evangelical extremes up as the definition of protestantism, which makes any meaningful discourse impossible.
@Angelusignis480@OrthodoxEthos no its not worthless because we are above you, we have the actual faith, your faith is nothing to us
Orthodox people dont bother moral policing protestants and getting into their personal lives, only you people do this because you dont have argz
