I just solved the #Purdue crossword in 2 minutes 24 seconds. Can you beat my time? Full disclosure: I wrote books on these fantastic @PurdueUniversity women https://t.co/v49MMnUgoV
You probably know Amelia Earhart was a Boilermaker. But what about the other trailblazing women who changed our university forever?
In this story, author and historian Angie Klink discusses five iconic Purdue women that every Boilermaker should know: https://t.co/pse0uPSFJ4
I see..
I am a 5th generation farm family, teacher, sch supt, business woman, State Supt of Public Instruction, wife and mom. I have been a public servant for 30 years.
And…
My opponent is calling me “the Jezebel spirit."
Ladies- we deserve better than this.
Earlier this week, Michelle and I called our friend @KamalaHarris. We told her we think she’ll make a fantastic President of the United States, and that she has our full support. At this critical moment for our country, we’re going to do everything we can to make sure she wins in November. We hope you’ll join us.
Since my post is generating some interest, I’ll add that university and independent presses—with their sense of mission and openness to risk—will always be out ahead of stuff like the Vance mess. Consider connecting with a UP. (If I can help, I’m at dkrissoff at gmail dot com.)
With JD Vance looking like the Republican pick for vice president, a reminder that there's a great collection of activist and scholarly perspectives on him—Appalachian Reckoning: A Region Responds to Hillbilly Elegy. A bunch of us worked on it at (no surprise) a university press.
Thx-@City_Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski said he learned about Evaleen Stein’s connection to the founding of @LifeAtPurdue at the dedication of an @in_bureau marker in her honor.
Last Thursday, we helped dedicate a marker for author, poet, and artist Evaleen Stein. She gained renown during the Golden Age of Indiana Literature (c. 1880-1920).
Thank you to @AngieKlink, the Parlor Club, Zebra Landscape, @wgpfoundation, and those who attended the dedication!
The @indianahistoricalbureau marker honoring author, poet, artist Evaleen Stein (1863-1923) has been installed. Public dedication May 23, 5:30, 708 Hitt St. @City_Lafayette Indiana.
