@RossTetzloff I allow my students to give feedback on the feedback that they receive. Anonymous feedback is another idea. I wouldn't say explicit training, but at the beginning of the year I do run a little session on the does and don'ts. Students can translanguage when giving feedback. #TL508

@carmenlivesay I start with "question of the day"to stimulate oral language development. I compile a class booklet of students' phrases. At the end of the year I give each student a copy of the booklet. I've been pretty successful. I always encourage students to speak loudly and clearly. #TL508

@carmenlivesay My students are given time in groups to prepare their arguments for class debates before having class-wide debates. We have language-rich discussions through read alouds and I do lots of recording on the board as students share during classroom discussions. #TL508
