Watching DEI approved 'actors' pretending to be Bronze aged Greeks sailing around in a Norse style longship, talking like modern Zoomers, with everything that makes the original work a masterpiece stripped away. It is just tricky to look at the entirety of our current civilization, and not ponder why there is no colour anymore. Whether it is a McDonalds, cars or films.
But yes, for this film, muted colours make more sense than 'The King' for instance.

But the reason they filmed in awful greyscale is because ALL modern life is leeched of colour and life. So they have to do the same for past, more interesting eras. Demoralizing us is the point.

@Knightly_Hist Why is it puzzling? Just more greyscale modern awfulness. Colour is removed from everything in modern life. Buildings, media, cars, etc.
Look at the contemporary drawings of peasants, all dressed in bold colours. Even the poorest of them. How they are portray now is just evil.
