The greatest danger of secularism is not that it openly rejects God. Its greater danger is that it allows us to keep religion while quietly removing God from daily life.
@Endlessnights91@Zalmoxis7534@blessedmikko It’s absolutely lewd. And there’s worse on the account he retweeted.
Insane you’re defending this disgusting and shameless behavior!
Karmelo Anthony being found guilty is an exact representation of black boys never being afforded the luxury to make a mistake, as it clearly is in today’s society. They are not afforded the same empathy that many Caucasian males are, nor the
Black culture sucks, and it sucks we have to tolerate it.
They have been coddled and encouraged to resent and hate white people, and this is the result.
I don’t celebrate anything about the Karmelo conviction. I’m happy justice was done, but the whole thing is sad. One young life gone. Another effectively over. Groups of black people who’ve been lied to about everything their whole lives will be mad about it.
Whole thing sucks.
Karmelo never got a chance to show he was remorseful. Never got a chance to speak about his side of what happened his intent or anything all because of his airhead ass lawyers.
Karmelo Anthony was found guilty of murder today. A teenager who will likely lose his freedom for decades. Austin Metcalf already lost his.
We raise black boys to perform toughness, to harden their faces around white people, especially. We tell ourselves we are preparing them for a hostile world. We are handing them a script that ends in a courtroom or a casket.
I know, because that script was handed to me. We have to stop doing this to our sons. https://t.co/pib5fzjlkR
This matters.
Eastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox leaders are again speaking seriously about healing a separation that has lasted for more than 1,600 years.
For us as Oriental Orthodox Christians, this is not about abandoning our Fathers.
It is not about pretending history did not happen.
It is not about watering down the faith.
As Oriental Orthodox, we confess with Saint Cyril of Alexandria:
One incarnate nature of God the Word.
One Christ.
One Son.
One Lord.
Fully God.
Fully man.
Without confusion.
Without separation.
If both sides can honestly confess the same Christ, then humility demands that we take unity seriously.
The Church is not called to eternal suspicion.
The Lord Himself prayed:
“That they all may be one.”
Unity cannot be built on slogans.
It cannot be built on politics.
It cannot be built on pretending differences do not exist.
But it can be built on truth, repentance, patience, and the courage to receive what our theologians have already recognized.
If the faith is the same, then continued separation becomes a wound in the Body of Christ.
As a Syriac Orthodox Christian, I pray for unity without compromise.
Unity in truth.
Unity in the apostolic faith.
Unity in the same Christ our Fathers defended.
May God heal what history wounded.
@AHomelyHouse Arthurian wisdom coming from Atlantean survivors (Merlin), with Camelot as an attempt to restore a sunken utopian empire. Avalon symbolizing Atlantis, the legends preserving echoes of a pre-flood high-tech/magical civilization.
Did you guys know that DHS permits Sikhs to carry their weapons into secure government buildings even when no one else is permitted to carry their weapons?
