2 Prayers that have changed me.
1: 'Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.'
This is done meditatively and complitatively by breathing in the breath of life 'Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God...' that I may bear His image in me and to breath out my true sacrifice of a contrite heart '...Have mercy on me, a sinner' emptying myself humbly before Christ.
Through this prayer I am recentered away from my anxious self. It keeps me humble and embolden me against the demons. Sometimes when I have a bad dream I'll pray it in my dream and immediately the dream becomes peaceful.
2: 'Oh Holy Theotokos save us/(me)'
When I am self loathing or feeling lonely, this prayer has never failed to bring a warm gentle embrace over my soul like a mother comforting her child. I am filled with love and a sense of being merciful to myself and others.
Anyone who is dealing with the latinizers or who is considering their position
Just email the bishops. Someone in the Deanery will happily respond. At this point there's really no reason to entertain these arguments any more
I've personally done this multiple times and always get the same reply, and my experience is that there are people very happy to answer these questions. We can put this thing to bed pretty quickly
I've spoken with multiple priests across numerous jurisdictions in several countries, including Russians Greeks and Arabs, also including priests in the office of bishops and have had statements from multiple dioceses about these questions
To date I have yet to find a single one who affirms that I and American Orthodoxy more broadly is guilty of a modernist heresy or that the doctrines espoused by the Latinizers are the Orthodox teaching
You have cherry picked quote mines, including from numerous priests and bishops who disavow your teachings when asked about the issues at hand
I'm not puking this out if my rear end. I'm doing my homework here and actually contacting the bishops for clarification.
All of the people who engaged with @pearlythingz actually spoke very well aside from one Inquirer and a karen type woman. Bravo to @richardrohlin
and his parish. I'm interested to watch their talk on Friday. God bless you Deacon Seraphim!

This is an incomplete frame because Paul says to the Corinthians to punish our own disobedience. God bestows mercy and wrath to whom he wishes but he does not necessarily have to punish anyone in order to forgive and have mercy as Christ does many times before He is lifted upon the cross.
@_A_d_a_m___ The eucharistic ritual must necessarily reflect what happened with the sacrifice of Christ. So I'm pointing out something that isn't present the liturgy
Quote mining is not helpful unless you can show who did the translation, and demonstrate that their word usage is accurate to how we are interpreting so we don't make a word concept fallacy. The issue at hand is much more simple than trying to find quotes from church fathers which is why I pose the question in the OP.
@Tryphonakis@MrAugustlw2c@KalebAtlanta Punishment here is not identified as coming from the Father and is more identifiable in our modern language as the 'Consequence' or 'Curse' of sin.
Itβs moments like this that make me so proud of the Orthodox Church.
Fr Tom Soroka joined to call out the damage this person Austin has hosted has done in the past.
We also had @Rach4Patriarchy join to share her experience with Sarahβs subversive attempts and attacks on clergy.
And Fr Stephen De Young joined in and requested Austin remove ALL Videos collaborations heβs done with him.
I have since asked him to remove our previous video collaborations as well. And Iβm sure many others will do likewise.
When threats against the church come knocking at the door, Orthodox Christians must be UNIFIED and stand together to defend the truth. And tonight was a beautiful display of that unity at work.
God bless our church, and our clergy!
