The Delhi Legislative Assembly has invited the BHASHINI - (Digital India BHASHINI Division) to pilot its AI-powered #live transcription and translation system during Assembly proceedings.

With #BHASHINI, verbatim proceedings can be captured through AI-powered live transcription, with the scope to enable multilingual translation and voice-based access as well.

This pilot marks an important milestone in strengthening technology-enabled, multilingual governance and exploring how #AI can enhance the efficiency, productivity and accessibility of legislative proceedings. A step towards ensuring that language is never a barrier to participation in governance.

The BHASHINI Domain Innovation Challenge 1.0 united innovators, researchers, startups, and academia to create multilingual AI solutions for healthcare. Through the Multilingual AI Driven Healthcare Transcription and Service Delivery Challenge, participants developed voice to text technologies that simplify medical documentation and enhance citizen centric healthcare services.

BHASHINI successfully conducted a Multilingual AI Workshop at the Haryana Vidhan Sabha on 27 July 2026, engaging legislative stakeholders on the transformative potential of AI-powered language technologies.

The workshop showcased BHASHINI's multilingual, voice-first solutions for legislative workflows, including real-time translation, transcription, and publishing use cases. Discussions also focused on strengthening collaboration for the creation of parliamentary language datasets, a key step towards building inclusive AI solutions for governance.
