Already running over two years behind schedule, the Tejas Mk1A programme has hit another roadblock, with one of the six GE F404-IN20 engines delivered so far failing mandatory acceptance parameters during inspection, it is learnt.CNN NEWS18's Akash Sharma reports that Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has sought rectification from US aerospace major General Electric, leaving it with only five serviceable engines.
The six engines delivered so far are part of the 2021 contract worth $716 million for 99 F404-IN20 engines to power the first 83 Tejas Mk1A fighters.
The first engine reached HAL only in March 2025, a year after the first aircraft was contractually due to be delivered to the IAF. The sixth engine, the one now found to have failed acceptance parameters, arrived in May.
The development comes at a time when GE is separately also negotiating with India for F414 engines to power the flagship fifth-gen Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA). As reported by CNN NEWS18's Akash Sharma the American company has sought around triple the price for supplying engines for the prototypes.

Second, If the Vehicle of DC Doesn’t pass for 20 Minutes it doesn’t matter but a Army Convoy specially that of Rashtriya Rifles (RR) be it in Regular Army Vehicles or Civilian vehicles going to Launch a CASO (Cordon and Search Operation) or SADO (Search and Destroy Operation) must not be 4 Minutes late, given the Existing Conditions when #OperationSindoor is on and Pakistan is Trying to Infiltrate it’s Terrorists in Key Areas. The Civilian vehicles registered under the name of Army’s Northern Command that have been illegally seized by Police after FIR Registered by DC Kishtwar play most Important Role in Maintaining the Surprise element for movement of Troops. These Vehicles play most Crucial Role in Operations.

Third, just for the sake of satisfying personal Bureaucratic Ego one cannot pitch the Police against the Army in such Zones, this Diverts Attention and focus of both Army’s Primary CI/CT Operations Conducting Force the Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Police in these zones. The focus must remain on the Primary Objective that is Foiling Pakistan’s Nefarious Designs and Counter the Hybrid War Unleashed by Pakistan Army and ISI rather than letting Civilian Bureaucratic Ego take over and Pitch Police Vs Army.

1 day, K. S. Srinivasan, a student at Madras Christian College who had known Srinivasa Ramanujan from their days in Kumbakonam, visited him at Summer House in Madras.

"Ramanujan, people call you a genius," he remarked.

Ramanujan smiled & replied, "Genius? Look at my elbow. That will tell you the story."

His elbow was rough, dark & calloused. He worked almost entirely on a large slate, scribbling eqns at a furious pace. Instead of reaching for a cloth every time he needed to erase, he simply wiped the slate clean with his elbow. It was quicker, especially when he was completely absorbed in his mathematics.

"My elbow is making a genius of me," he joked.

Srinivasan then asked, "Why do not you use paper?"

"I cannot afford it," Ramanujan replied. Although he was receiving financial support from Ramachandra Rao, it was barely enough to cover his basic needs. To work the way he wanted, he estimated he would need ~4 reams of paper every month, an expense well beyond his means.

My comments on the Air Conditioning Debate in Europe because of the rising heat.
It's all in the mind and humans suffered far worse. Heck. The same Europeans complaining of heat spent summers in Africa and Pakistan in summers without a complaint. It's just mild heat occurring for a few days, not even weeks. We shouldn't risk jeopardizing the earth for four days of comfort. We are not just looking at the machines but at the plastic and fuel which goes into manufacturing it.
Lets not create a ruckus out of this out of our selfishness. Future generations deserve better from us responsible adults. Plant more trees, stop using private transport to reduce fuel emissions and control temperature, reduce non-essential electricity consumption and do things which are meaningful and logical, don't waste everyone's effort by putting an emotional drama. In fact, dunking yourself in a bottle of water is far better and logical option than this rush for air conditioning. And more importantly.
When the bulk of Pakistan and Africa survive in temperatures far higher than this and without air conditioning, one should seriously introspect how Pakistanis are more responsible and better humans than those demanding ACs at their slightest discomfort.
And Europeans should never forget their role in this global warming - isn't their development over the last 300 years the reason for this? I am not saying they should suffer for the ills of their ancestors but shouldn't they be at least considerate towards the future generations and absorb more pain than complaining at the first minor discomfort. Introspect. Your past and future is against you. What are you going to do in the present to make some amends, however small they are?
TLDR: Your lifestyle over the last 250 years made your housing obsolete. Rather than making viable amends and give viable concessions, it's funny to argue we need even more facilities.
