जाति एक ऐसी मानसिक संरचना है जो सामाजिक परिवेश से दिमाग में घुसती है और स्थायी हो जाती है। इसका सबसे साफ रूप शादी-विवाह में दिखता है। अपवाद छोड़कर लोग अपनी जाति के अंदर ही विवाह करते हैं। इसके बावजूद लगभग हर कोई जाति से इनकार करता दिखाई देता है। व्यवहार एक है, भाषा दूसरी।
प्रो. सूर्यनारायण डूला विदेश पढ़े हैं, काबिल हैं। यह बात अपने आप यह साबित नहीं करती कि उनके दिमाग में जाति का कीड़ा नहीं है। अनपढ़ भेदभाव खुलकर और क्रूरता से करता है। पढ़ा-लिखा उसे सूक्ष्म तरीके से करता है—टिप्पणी, धमकी, मूल्यांकन, नेटवर्क। जान जा सकती है, जाति नहीं जाती।
भारत के सामाजिक पिछड़ेपन और बार-बार की गुलामी की एक बड़ी जड़ जाति रही है। जब तक शादी, सम्मान और रोजमर्रा का व्यवहार जाति के घेरे में रहेगा, यह जड़ बनी रहेगी।

⚠️Dark reality of IITs

Having completed graduation from IIT Guwahati , I must state that casteism is there at IITs. Maybe sometimes light, sometimes very cruel, in one form or the other.

I still try to mentor few students, one being from IIT Kharagpur who often shares how he have to face casteist slurs!

At the same time, I must mention in my batch 7 out of 10 toppers were from reserved category, but casteism still persists in the system like anything.
